US Sen. Rubio urges Obama to wait on immigration

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio urged President Barack Obama to hold off using executive authority to overhaul immigration regulations, saying reform should be gradual and come only after authorities clamp down on illegal immigration.

“Taking executive action will set back the opportunity to make progress,” Rubio told reporters in Spanish on Wednesday during a two-day trip to Colombia. His comments echoed those by incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a day after Republicans took control of the Senate. …

Well said.

I wish with all of my heart that I could say that you are wrong, but you are spot-on.

incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

Notice how they slipped that in there.

McConnell is not the right choice, nor is Boehner. I could certainly plead policy differences, and the inability to stand courageously, but I have a different reason.

Obama is going to play the lone martyr standing against the evil dark side of Republicanism. We really don't need two old white guys to be the point people on this.

Republicans need at least one minority and one female as the point people and public face, even if others are the actual movers behind the scenes..

Who are the senior conservative females and minorities in the House and Senate?

Let's face it - the far left now running the country want to pretend there is no southern border for VOTING purposes. The soon-to-be Congressional leaders (Jan 3 2015) ALSO want no borders to exist for employment purposes but they do want a border when it comes to voting.

In the end Obozo is going to do his amnesty knowing full well that the GOP is gutless and will do nothing other than pass meaningless bills and send them to his desk where they will be ignored or vetoed outright. McConnell has already taken the funding issue off the table and he is not even the majority leader yet!!!!

McConnell rules out 2015 government shutdown, debt default November 05, 2014

The only tool the Congress will have without a veto proof GOP membership roster will be to DEFUND immigration departments and Obozo will claim to his voter base and Goebels media complex the GOP SHUT THE GOVERNMENT DOWN.

We all know there is plenty of Federal revenue coming in to pay the Gov Debt but the media controls the narrative and so there you go - new GOP LEADERSHIP CAVING BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN SITTING IN THE MAJORITY LEADERSHIP CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly and Marco never sees it that way. He keeps calling it immigration when it is pure and simple amnesty for millions.

Amnesty in any way would be wrong for illegals.

First off, Amnesty is racist IMO. Why should mostly Mexicans be allowed passage to here legally after document fraud and everything else in the millions?
Why not allow equal percentages from friendly countries around the world, including Ireland, France, Italy, New Zealand and so forth?

There is also the issue of the loyalty willing to be given to a people who can cross a line with our border to go home.

ALso, have all these illegals been paying taxes? Nothing stops them from having gotten a number to work with and pay taxes even if they were here illegally?
How much of the dole are these families through anchor babies accessing?

Requirement has been they have to pay for themselves and live at 125% above the poverty line and NOT be a burden to our country to be allowed to stay here?
If they are on the dole through their kids doesn't the law bar most of the illegals seeking residency from coming here because they are mostly all takers that pay little if any taxes?

Are you all aware courts have also changed the law and made document fraud legal for illegals as to not hold them accountable for past behavior? More cr@p IMO.

Look into how many filed false tax returns for thousands and ten thousands of dollars being fast and loose with the child tax credit. Meaning they filed often false tax returns.

If anything, people who can live at 125% above the poverty line and not only those who made it from Mexico. How about equal representation of the world like from Italy, France and Greece unless we are going to be racist IMO.

Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt's Generals: 'How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?'
Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt's military -- even as Cairo's security forces massacre anti-government activists. [by "anti-government activists" is meant church-burning Christian-murdering jihadists]

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

There was NO CHOICE. There was NO DIFFERENCE in either 2008 or 2012.

Sen.McCain had taken in hundreds of thousands of $$ from Soros in 2008, and Gov. Mitt Romney has always been an admirer of Saul Alinsky, just like his father, Gov.George Romney.

So, what choice?

That’s what people don’t get-—how are we going to stop the 20 million already here and the, I dunno, 5 more million he’s letting in now? Once they are here, we will never get rid of them.

” Then McConnell and his GOPe will bring out the piece that the US Chamber of Commerce wants which is Work Visas for 10 to 20 million illegals so they will ‘pay taxes’, ‘come out of the shadows’, ‘pay a fine’ etc.

After the work cards are manufactured and issued, the border security bill will be abandoned and the member businesses of the US Chamber of Commerce will get their cheap labor.

But there will be a ‘pathway to citizenship’ only it won’t matter because all the holders of the Work Visas will also get driver licenses and be unlawfully registered to vote at the same time via Motor-Voter.

Then it’s game over for conservatives which is what the democrats and the GOPe want because it clears the field of crazy obstructionists which is how they see Conservatives.”

Game plan in a nutshell.

McCain was indeed a bad choice. A maverick is as untrustworthy as it gets.

Immigration “reform” is coming whether we like it or not.
But not all immigration reform bills are the same. Any bill which does not close borders first is a joke.

While we will never know what a president Romney would have done, I have no evidence he would sign an executive order making 8 million illegals instant US citizens. Obummer will do just that as soon as the election in Louisiana for Landrieu is over.

So then we will get 8 million new voters, 90%-95% of them will vote democrat BECAUSE a democrat president gave them amnesty. This is direct result of 4 million McCain voters abstaining in 2012, who were trying to teach the RINO’s a lesson. Well, after amnesty to 8 million by executive order, I am afraid the “lesson” has come back to bite our behinds.

The illegals are not living in a vacuum. They either have jobs now or are collecting welfare. They are not missing any benefits by being illegal. I just saw a study which concludes there are millions of illegal voter registrations. Here in my state of Washington, you can get a driver’s license with no proof of legal status. We can register at any post office with a driver’s license. Many illegals do not pay taxes, many use fraudulent SS numbers. To continue in this fashion is not acceptable. Something has to change. We can’t even find 10 most wanted on FBI list. Where will the gov’t get resources to find 11 million illegals?

A “good” immigration reform bill will close the borders first, then place the illegals at the end of current waiting line. They would be required to pay back taxes and pay a fine. WHen they come out of the shadows, their criminal records can be checked.....

"Where will the gov’t get resources to find 11 million illegals?

Once they start enforcing existing law, rounding up the illegals and shutting down access to resources, privileges and "benefits", those leeches will start running for the border...no need to go after all of them.

A “good” immigration reform bill will close the borders first, then place the illegals at the end of current waiting line. They would be required to pay back taxes and pay a fine. WHen they come out of the shadows, their criminal records can be checked..... "

Delusion...RINO talking point...deport them all. This approach is administrative bullshit and unicorns crapping skittles idiocy.

You get a RINO grade of A, and a F- for reason. The existing immigration laws, which have been ignored by the government, are all we need. If they are enforced, most will self deport.

1) No reform is needed. ENFORCEMENT is.

Yep...

All of this talk about a “broken immigration system” is pure mischaracterization, hyperbole and bull.

The only thing “broken” about it is that there is NO ENFORCEMENT of existing law which, when applied judiciously and consistently, worked.

Seventy-four percent of Americans are opposed to amnesty. And
why should we have ‘reform’ when we haven’t enforced the immigration laws we already have on the books?

There is nearly 40% unemployment in my community here in southwest Washington state. We don’t need immigrants. If any ‘reform’ is needed it will be to shut-off immigration.

If Obama grants amnesty by executive order then the GOP must IMPEACH regardless of the 2016 election implications. If we don't live under the constitution then we have no USA and I will not abide by her laws, period.

Granting amnesty by executive order is a constitution crisis, Obama would not only not be upholding the laws of deportation but would be breaking the law by this order.
