That was Norman Mailer.
........And I can count on the fact that someone else will come along and write what I’m thinking.
Moving along will not be very easy though. Every third school in your town will be named Maya Angelou School for Diversity.
Especially in North Carolina.
Saw this quote from her posted on Twitter:
“There’s a world of difference between truth and facts. Facts can obscure the truth.”
Ummm. What?
The lights are dimmed and flags lowered at Hallmark.
Lousy poet; there, I said it. RIP anyway.

Dittos here, too. In the end, they all get called home. In this case, I’d say home will be hot.
I predict Google will feature Maya Angelou for the remainder of the weak.
I have nothing nice to say about the dead. I predict I will get weary of hearing this news and that’s all I will say.
A bad poetry tribute to Maya Angelou:
Gone from us Maya, we all haz a sad
You were so old with poems so bad
You wrote what you felt which sadly was poo
We miss you already oh my Angelou.
Eh.
Whatever.
Back in ‘92-’93, I worked with a white, middle-class, college educated woman in her early 20s who described Angelou as her favorite poet. I should’ve regarded that as a portent.
OMG! people are looking at me now. You know the look. Good! Maybe they will leave me alone today.
“Cue the White House and the MSMedia... this is gonna be painted on thick today. “
You mean the wh flag hasn’t already been lowered to half mast and pictures of orah, mooch and bammy tearfully moaning underneath?
Yep no doubt. Orca is one of her closet friends, so no doubt there will be a movie about her.
“...which sadly was poo
We miss you already oh my Angelou....”
You know, that was VERY funny... a little coffee just snorted onto my keyboard...
She was a poet and writer, if I recall correctly. She did a poem at Clinton’s inauguration, if I recall correctly. So she would be a liberal favorite.
And the world still goes on... Amazing...
May her family have peace during their difficult time.
