WASHINGTON, DC – Today, First Lady Michelle Obama joined the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) and SUBWAY® along with SUBWAY® Famous Fans Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin, and Justin Tuck at a local Washington, DC, SUBWAY® Restaurant, to announce a three-year commitment by the chain in support of her Let’s Move! initiative to promote healthier choices to kids, including launching its largest targeted marketing effort to date. In addition to strengthening its already nutritious menu offerings to kids, SUBWAY® will launch a new series of campaigns for kids aimed at increasing fruit and vegetable consumption and will set new standards for marketing products to families.
“I’m excited about these initiatives not just as a First Lady, but also as a mom,” said First Lady Michelle Obama. “Subway's kids' menu makes life easier for parents, because they know that no matter what their kids order, it’s going to be a healthy choice.”

We took 4 of our grandchildren to dinner, last night, at a local restaurant. Three of them ordered chicken fingers and one steak tips. The one who ordered the steak tips had a choice of 3 different kinds of potato and a variety of veggies. He chose 2 potato sides. If their meals had come with a vegetable they would have left it on the plate. On the other hand, I have 2 granddaughters in CA.who would rather have the veggies any day. They like what they like.
That’s eyebrow-raising unethical.
Of course the Ubamas aren’t big on that ethics thing.
I quit eating there when I found out virtually everything they sell there and call meat is some kind of disguised turkey. I think even the potato chips!
The comments are brutal .... it’s apparent Subway has kicked a hornet’s nest. Evidently corporate HQ is getting many calls as well .... long wait reported.

It warms the cockles of my heart to see virtually every comment there trashing Subway and its association with Michelle Obama.
The social media marketing people at Subway must be freaking.

Hmmmmm. Isn’t subway owned by some doctors group? Will they get some “special” sauce when it comes to obiecare? Port-a-subs here I come. Sure would have liked to have had one last Eye-talian BMT.
They forced McDonalds to provide apples not fries and look at them today.

“Just wanted to let you know that since you are teaming up with a certain individual who I have absolutely no respect for because she is a lying, damnable hypocrite when it comes to nutrition, I am no longer going to patronize any of your establishments.
Stupid, stupid, stupid...aligning with someone as “toxic” as her...but then I guess ideology trumps good business sense huh? There isn’t anyone else out there who isn’t as polarizing as her to use to promote healthy choices?

Funny how “going political” is a bad business decision ONLY if you’re supporting Conservatives.
Delicious, isn’t it? I’m sure they’re stuck in a contract with Big Mo, so I hope they have signed their death warrant, unlike Cracker Barrel, who was able to quickly reverse their decision.
Make sure to tell the corporate office why you are boycotting them.
Corporations should really stay out of politics.
