Virginia Democratic Rep. Jim Moran will retire after 23 years in the House, according to multiple Democratic sources.
The retirement is the third for Democrats this week: on Monday, Rep. George Miller (Calif.) said he would leave Congress after 40 years and Rep. Bill Owens (N.Y.) announced Tuesday he would forgo re-election in 2014.
Moran’s northern Virginia seat is heavily Democratic, and is unlikely to be competitive in November: President Barack Obama won 68 percent of the vote in both 2012 and 2008, and Moran coasted with 65 percent of the vote in 2012. The Democratic primary is expected to be competitive, though, since Moran has had a hold on the district since 1991.
Moran, a longtime former Alexandria, Va., city official, is expected to make the announcement Wednesday morning, according to party sources.

If Moran was alive and living in NYC in 1863 he would have been lynching adult Blacks and setting fire to Black Orphanages.
There are more Democrat resignations coming. Most Democrats know the devastating politico wreck that they will undergo come November, 2014. The smart ones know it’s time to get out before being embarassed by massive losses in the Mid-Term elections. The only things that can alter their fate are, the Republican dummies screw this up or, brooming Obama/Biden out of office right now, by resignation or impeachment!!! End of story!!!
Conyers can’t retire until his wife gets out of jail and gets back on somebody’s payroll. Dingell will die in office and his old lady will run for his seat and probably win.
Serious alcoholic too if the stories about him barely being able to stumble his way home from Murphys are true.
But Alexandria loves him. I once got kicked out of the Irish store in the “Irish Walk” by Pat Troys for speaking ill of him. Saw him walk by on King St and made a comment to my wife (not too loud, but definitely enough to be heard by others) about how amazed I was that he’d managed to pry himself off his barstool at Murphys in a condition where he could actually walk, then wondered whether he was on his way to beat up a kid or his ex-wife.
Another politicians quitting to go home to spend more time with his money.
Hooray! This antisemitic child beater has been an embarassment to Virginia and Congress. The libs in Alexandria / Arlington / Fairfax County kept re-electing him no matter what shenanigans he committed.

I’m convinced that, besides having many politically ignorant voters voting and besides having many politically stupid voters voting, a lot of voter fraud went on during the November ‘12 general election, too, and that it could happen again, from now on. Add to this making amnesty for illegal immigrants official, very soon, as well as having all of the ongoing problems created by leftist activist judges continue, and all of these pro-left actions, combined, will succeed in creating a long-term headache for all of U.S. conservatism.
