How far will the government go to infringe on your rights?
In San Francisco, residents arent even allowed to store their own belongings in their home.
Residents of the liberal city are banned from using their garage to store any personal property other than a vehicle. Chapter Six of the San Francisco Housing Code states, Private and public storage garages in apartment houses and hotels shall be used only for storage of automobiles. Those who violate the law can be slapped with a $500 fine.

Why are they doing that, what was the intent behind this.
So seasonal displays would be what?
Extra logs for a fireplace would be what?
It makes no sense.

It seems like we read about a new governmental power grab every day, at local, state and federal levels. Liberty is suffering the death of a thousand cuts right before our eyes.

There is nothing “liberal” about these people
Uh, so you can't "store" some of your extended family in there?
Someone must own a lot of those self-storage places, and have friends on the City Council.
I thought you are not allowed to have a car in the city.
I’m out of the city, now to leave this state.
This isn’t new. It’s an OLD section of the code that they regard as goofy and are trying to repeal.
Why would anyone want to live there?
Some sort of deal with storage unit companies which would generate tax revenue?
What about all the good little SanFrancickans who got rid of their auto in favor of a bicycle? Must they erect a shed for proper storage, and leave the garage barren?
What about your washer and dryer? Or your water heater? Or your tools? Or you motorcycle? Or your bicycle?..................

Looks like, if you live in a apartment building or a hotel, you can’t store junk in the spot designated for your car.
Or your guns?
The deed restrictions in my last neighborhood stated something to the effect that garages were solely for the purpose of cars and all cars had to be in the garage when not in use. The garage door had to be closed.
Nobody, including the Nazi HOA board kept their cars in the garage because, let’s face it, they were too small for even regular sized cars. One family decided to make their garage into a bedroom for their two oldest boys and use the other bedrooms for their younger children. The HOA took them to court to force them to tear out the extra room. (They left the garage door in place and you couldn’t tell what they’d done from the street.)
I don’t know how the case ended as I sold my house. But that family moved out before I did.
Snowmobile, toboggan, skis, snow tires, air compressor, floor jack, the list is nearly endless.
Whattabout an enclosed trailer?
It says apartment house and hotels not private houses ..I that to mean parking stalls not enclosed garage... that being said most apartment ive lived in have had a built in storage locker on the back wall of the parking stall and you were no allowed to stack your crap in the open in the back of the stall
