Use. Private and public storage garages in apartment houses and hotels shall be used only for storage of automobiles.

Horse Pucky! Consider this scenario.

You own a duplex

I Dunno...Are duplex's with garages the same thing as apartment buildings and hotels?

Follow the money. See who owns the majority of self storage lots in the city.

"It costs a few bucks to dispose of a tire."

That's one reason why they make reciprocating saws. It's easiest to end up with five parts - 2 beads, 2 sidewalls and the tread (or what's left of it). Then it can just go in the garbage, as needed.

What is you have your workshop in your garage, out past your cars? It is a big garage.
Where you store your lawnmowers and stuff, and you have a workbench to work on, and shelves to store stuff like paints, gasoline, paint thinners, propane gas? You also have your tools there.
What if you do not use your car to store a car in?

There are lots, yeah...
Most are taken apart or otherwise being worked on or restored. (I am the unofficial neighborhood armourer)
But my guns that I own and shoot are in my gun vault. I call it my gun vault/gun room but its just an extra bedroom with gun cabinets and safes. I even have a display case from a jewelry store that has my special stuff.
But no, I don’t store guns in the garage.
Hella lot of ammo though....

Why would anyone want to live there?

Well, if you're a faggot or a drug addict, it's a pretty good place. There are almost as many fags, per capita, as are in Tulsa. And that's a bunch. But drug addicts get a cash handout (every week or every month, I forget) with the hope that they (the addict) won't steal to support their habit. Turns out it works. Addicts don't steal to support their habit. They steal to buy the big screen tvs.

All property is theft to a Marxist.

No more “hoarding”. All will have nothing, comrade.

"They do not enhance any value in RE and have been massive problems in CA"

If they generate cash flow (rent, mortage, tax receipts), the government and the banks consider it a positive outcome for a number of reasons, including real estate.

My own home has this deed restriction in the CC&R's.

It's about controlling street parking.

Most homes have several driver residents. Both parents have a car, and assume one teen-ager, too. If everyone used their garage as storage and parked their cars on the street, there wouldn't be enough curb space for everyone. So, the mandate that garages are to be used for their intended purpose: garaging the car.

Peope are using their garages now to store accumulations, perhaps from down-sizing their homes. In the past, these things would be stored in Public Storage, Extra Space, or other storage businesses. People are avoiding those costs now and storgin their stuff in their garages, which push the cars out into the street.
