Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Chairman of the Economic Growth Subcommittee, sent a harsh letter to Attorney General Holder Wednesday accusing the Department of Justice of abusing its power and intimidating banks through its "Operation Choke Point." In the letter, Issa and Jordan stated, "[t]he [House Oversight and Government Reform] Committee is concerned that both the goal and mechanisms of Operation Choke Point may constitute a serious mismanagement and abuse of the Department´s FIRREA [Financial Institution Reform and Recovery Act of 1989] authority." The passed a law saying that banks had to loan to people who could not afford it.
The banks are not stupid so they ignored it.
So Andrew Cuomo, as Bill CLinton’s attorney general sued the first bank he could for ‘discrimination’ and WON what was the biggest settlement in history- $12billion dollars.
So... the other banks fell in line
They had a choice to get sued and lose billions or loan money that was guaranteed by the government, to people who could not afford it.
Then every criminal in the country was selling houses back and forth to each other inflating the prices until someone was left holding the bag, and the government ended bailing them out anyway.
For $500 billion dollars, wasn’t it? then a few $TRILLION more in ‘stimulous’ (where was all that money spent?)
And be warned Holder if you don’t come clean we’ll send you another letter!

I wish Issa would stay with one or two investigations and actually finish them.

He's documenting the excesses of Holder and the Obama administration in a public forum. There's little chance the House can do anything about it now, the Senate won't go along. So he does what he can. Frankly any conservative derision towards Issa is only carrying water for Holder and Obama.

It’s always been that way, Issa has always been totally ineffective. He should have camped out in the Benghazi hearing room 24/7 - just one example where he’s all hat and no cattle.
