We were flat out wrong."
Thats the message Cracker Barrel is sending to enraged customers after the restaurant chain removed Duck Dynasty items from its stores over fears it might offend people.
Our intent was to avoid offending but thats just what weve done, Cracker Barrel said in a statement posted on its Facebook page. You told us we made a mistake. And, you werent shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings.
One of those customers was Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. He said his family has eaten in nearly every Cracker Barrel in the country.
Cracker Barrel must be off their rocker, he said in a statement to Fox News. For Cracker Barrel to take the bait of an organization like GLAAD, which has led the attack on Phil Robertson, they are betraying the values of the vast majority of their customers.

Bump
Komen, Part II.
Translation: “Please don’t stop shopping here!!”
I don’t feel sorry for them, but I DO like that they are freaking out at the backlash, MORE THAN the homo lobby
New on the Cracker Barrel Menu: CROW! How STUPID ARE these business owners? They look like IDIOTS for first CAVING to this PC BS, then have to retract it all.
Mr. Businessman? THIS type of stuff makes me NOT want to visit your business. Talk about being STUPID about your own Customer Base! Yeesh! (And I don’t care what the subject is; stand for nothing, fall for anything when you cave to this PC stupidity!)
Oh wait, he and his OFA buds have probably never set foot in one to begin with.
Yeah, who knows what's in that "cheese".
I'm outta here.
A public denial and chastisement of the fag organizations and re-commitment/restoration of Phil is the ONLY redemptive act I will honor.
Would be better though if they didn't sell Duck Dynasty products which profit A&E, and instead sold items from Duck Commander, which benefits the Robertsons.
Exactly. These chains get realtime point-of-sale information, so they knew within hours that they were on the wrong side and were taking a financial hit. To their credit, they weren’t stupid enough to stick by their bad decision very long.
Mistakes do happen, and this was one. Nowhere near A&E proportions, and in the end it won’t hurt Cracker (aka “Quacker”) Barrel much. Back in the home office a few careers will have taken a different direction because of it, I suspect resumes are being updated as we type.
Don’t punish CB for correcting a mistake, they would certainly deserve criticism if they hadn’t reversed themselves. Consider this a teachable moment just as you would when your kids screw up. The goal is to not make the same mistake twice, and if you were just an observer, to learn from the embarrassment Cracker Barrel has suffered.
Next time a similar situation arises, we will see if anything has been learned. If not, we need only mention “The Quacker Barrel debacle” in order to make the point.
Saved me a trip from having to take back some things we bought there Friday night. Thank you Cracker Barrel for common sense and decency. Too bad GLADD....
It's a business, so I imagine first thing Monday morning, the Cracker Barrel executive whose idea it was to pull Phil's things off of the shelves ought to be having a very interesting heart-to-heart conversation with his superiors - assuming it hasn't already happened.
I would also guess that sometime Monday, said executive will be polishing up his resume.
Christmas season is gonn'a SUCK this year for you guys.
Well, I’m a bit more understanding of Cracker Barrel here than I might be of another chain. CB took a lot of heat back in the 90s for their stance on having gay and effeminate men working for their restaurants. So, I would imagine they were a little gun-shy this time and thought discretion was the better part of valor this time.
Not saying I agree with the initial decision to pull the DD merchandise, of course. I’m just sayin’ that any business that’s been burned once is likely to be twice shy.
Be silent and passive no more! Speak out and act up; fight fire with fire!
When I have eaten at a Cracker Barrel, I see hard working American families. I see people who are having a family dinner together, not pajama boy and his occupy crowd.
Not sure if I will ever eat at another one -it is a shame because I loved eating breakfast there with my husband when we go out of town.
You think that all companies would have taken note after the JCP fiasco and how Christians have paid for the foundation of that company and they can just as easily take their money back by not spending it there.
Yes, they should never have bowed to pressure in the first place....
..but I will give them another chance....they seem to be abjectly sorry and apologetic
...----and meanwhile it sticks a good ole country fork in the bullies' craw.
I’m waiting for Barilla Pasta to retract their apology, and get in line with Phil Robertson.
Yes they blew it big time by jumping the gun. They cow towed to the Queers throwing us Christians under the Bus.
Too late
I’ll never spend another penny in your effin stores
