Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson has been fired from the reality program following his controversial remarks in GQ magazine regarding homosexuality.
A+E Networks, parent company of A&E, has released the following statement to Variety:
We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertsons comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.
I’m wondering if A and E “technically” broke the contract and the rest of them can say, “Duck off!”
I am quite angry at Megyn.....where was her voice on this????????????????
“Somebody explain to me how this country is any different from Sodom.”
There may, in fact, be ten righteous men in America, unlike Sodom.
I mean it’s possible.
I cancel my cable and I don’t get Fox News and some other shows I enjoy. This is not a “cable” problem... this is an A and E problem.
It’s dangerous (not to mention, ridiculous) when gay people label any opinion of their lifestyle that does not conform with their agenda/opinion as “hate.”
Same thing with those who called any disagreement with Obama “racism.”
Just so long as you're a lib, you're untouchable. Try being a black conservative. I get treated worse than white conservatives.
The opinion police strikes.... What freedom of speech? Watch out you might offend someone with that talk. It never ends.
Fair and Balanced . . .not. Her true self is coming out. More programing guests like this and her show is history.
all of their other shows are highly offensive to me
bump
A&E have been pissed at the folks from Duck Dynasty for awhile...and I bet they were itching for a reason to show their power. I know that discussions had been going on over the last several months to have DD partner with Snapple to do a Duck Dynas-TEA promotion for Snapple. The Robertson’s had other ideas to team up with I think a smaller tea company and it put A&E into a tizzy! They told the Robertson’s they could not use the Duck Dynasty name if they went with a different company. A&E can shove it!
Stevie, the family was already financially successful before A&E came calling. After two years of what amounts to free advertising, I'm sure their business is doing record breaking business.
I honestly don't think they'd have a problem standing on their principles and loyalty to the patriarch of their family in this situation. I think they'll walk away together if A&E stands their ground.
It shouldn’t take courage for you to revere the Constitution, but in the warped minds of leftists, all blacks must think alike. Groupthink, it’s called. I imagine though, that for you, it must be liberating to refuse to accept your designated place on the plantation! Bob
<< If the family has any principals at all they will figure out how to sever the contract or throw the series. >>
First of all, if theres any way possible legally, they will not film one more episode. that family WILL stand together, mark my words.
If contractual obligations require them to continue, every last one of them should deadpan the A&E camera crew. They should read their lines and “go through the motions” and anything else that would be a good silent protest while still maintaining the contract. (I really loved the idea up the thread of a Phil cardboard cutout!)
Meanwhile, millions of Christians will laugh hysterically each week as we watch them say their scripted lines in a flat monotone voice. And we WILL boycott every single advertiser that dares to touch A&E. Where is a boycott list?!
Tomorrow, I’ll be buying up a ton of their products, just to show them some support for exercising 1st Amendment rights.
I am sure of that brother.
I have a whole family of black Conservatives living down the street from me, really nice folks, always there to help.
Me too! Been a year now and can’t say I miss it. ROKU is great and I saved $1200 this year.
I emailed my comments to the A&E feedback address and told them that very thing. My guess is, they're going to hear it til their ears bleed.
“Satan has the power that people give to him.”
You are absolutely right. However we must never lose sight of the outcome in satan vs God (Christians) We win!
