He wants her to run in 2014 so she would NOT run in 2016..................
He like all the RINOs wants her out of the way in 2016, duh!
What makes Kristol think that Palin is interested in a political career?
I think she’s doing much better as an anaylst/entertainer, and making a lot more money. Losing another election would kill her media career.
If I were advising her, I would suggest that she stay out of elective office and instead work on getting good people elected.
The GOP want her to run to keep her out of the presidential race. I hope she doesn’t do this. She will have no power in the Senate. The Senate is too corrupt now. It would be an incredible waste.
I believe that if she does a presidential run the GOP will do everything it can to make sure she doesn’t win. If that includes helping the dems to steal the election for Hillary so be it. I think they’d rather have Hillary.
Sarah is presently nobody, as bad or worse than that loser Rick Santorem. Sarah must run for the Senate or just fade away.
SoGOTP
She won’t do it. I doubt she’s interested.
The day anyone looks to Bill Kristol for advice should be the day they END their political career.
I wasn’t aware that she NEEDED “rehab”.
If the McCain and the idiots around him had let her VET obozo in 2008, we might not be in this mess!
I can’t see Palin choosing to move to DC unless she could make a huge difference. Whether she can team up with Paul and Cruz in the Senate to wrest control from McCain and Graham, that might not be a bad thing and - you may recall - the current White House occupant was also a senator for an embarrassingly small time period without the experience of governor so I don’t see a win in 2014 preventing her from a run in 2016.
Still, a loss probably kicks her out of political office for good and I’m betting this is what the GOP-e really wants.
Go, Sarah!!
So, let’s say she runs and wins in 2014. What happens if she pulls an Obama and runs for President in 2016? Are we all going to hear how “she quit after only a 1/3 of her term?” ad infinitum?
Yes, of course we will. and it will be used to destroy her Presidential run.
Screw the Senate, run for President, Sarah!
“Kristol added that Palins departure before the end of her term as governor hurt her leadership image....”
Kristol any anyone else that says that garbage... can KMA.
If Palin runs, I’ll support her all the way.
On the other hand, if Palin ever wants to be taken seriously as a presidential contender someday, whether in 2016, 2020, or beyond, then, yes, she would need to win a major elective office again (governor, senator, or VP).
He’s probably right, but I would be worried to see her take any advice from this GOPe elitist.
Kristol is another blithering Beltway Bubble Boy. Sarah does not need to run. She is far more powerful rallying the base for Tea Party candidates.
IMO it would interfere with here ability to raise her personal wealth as she does right now.
Don’t know if she would be willing to take the financial hit.
Right now she makes money and still gets her political views on shows and in the news anyway.
I would be she cares less.
Simple. He wants to divide the Conservative vote to keep Cruz from winning. I have no doubt that Sarah will endorse Cruz. We must unite behind one candidate in the primary or the RINO du Jour will once again get the nomination.
Sarah Palin could rehabilitate her political career with a 2014 Senate run, Bill Kristol said Sunday.I think the way Palin would possibly resurrect herself, if thats the right word, or rehabilitate herself I guess a better way of putting it, [is] run for Senate in Alaska in 2014, The Weekly Standard editor said during a Web interview with ABC.
Kristol said the former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee would be pretty interesting as a freshman senator after beating an incumbent in an election.
Im not urging that, Im just saying if I were her adviser I would say, Take on the incumbent, you have to win a primary, then you have to beat an incumbent Democrat. Its not easy. But if she did that, suddenly if she can imagine that, you know, Sarah Palin, freshman senator, Jan. 15, in Washington having beaten an incumbent, that would be pretty interesting, he said.
we want her in 2016
