More than 80 lawmakers have called on the Obama administration to allow gay men to donate blood.
The lawmakers say the administration should change what they say is an "outdated" policy.
Eighty-two lawmakers in the House and Senate signed on to the letter, including Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Enzi was the only Republican to sign the letter.
They said Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius should re-evaluate blood donation criteria that ban gay men from donating blood for life.

Given the topic, and I’m not trying to minimize how ludicrous this is in any way, I can’t help but get a chuckle our of the writer’s name.
If any of them need a transfusion, they should have to only be given blood donated by homosexuals.
But, in the usual scope of all things related to lawmakers, they will exempt themselves from having to abide by the laws they pass.

In point of fact, no it doesn’t. The left is politicizing medicine, too. Nothing can stand in the way of Fairness, the greatest virtue next to sodomy and abortion.
Reading the comments on the Hill site, you aren’t too far off at how the lefties are reacting.
Those people are truly sick.
Let’s be scientific about it first. The congress critters can be the subjects of a double blind test, giving one group the blood of queers once a week for twelve months, and the other group the blood of drug addicts for another twelve months, not telling either group which blood they are getting, and see who feels best when the experiment is over. Swapping of bodily fluids between the to two test samples will have to be forbidden.
The thing to do is to donate your own blood in advance of the surgery so that it can be ready if you need some back. I’m told this is the safest way. I don’t know if that’s possible everywhere in the US, though.
Oh, it will probably not help. The crazies will find some way to mandate that blood be mixed with approved querty. For “fairness”.

Because that would require lying to donate blood. This isn’t about blood. It’s about making queers feel good about what they do.
