A lawyer friend of mine suspects that the Zimmerman trial is a clever trick that has been designed by cunning liberals to strip Americans of their second amendment rights. You all remember Clinton's legalisms in 1998, saying that what happened between him and Monica Lewinsky did not meet the strict legal definition of sex.
According to my lawyer friend, it is easy for sneaky liberals to interpret the second amendment as giving Americans the right to own arms, but not the right to use them. Liberals may have figured out that going door-to-door to confiscate guns is too much trouble. You can just pass a series of laws, and interpret them in such a manner that makes the use of guns illegal. A gun will have no more usefulness than a piece of furniture. In many jurisdictions, it is illegal to fire a gun on a neighborhood, even if nobody gets hurt.
Read Mr. Martin's tragic story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Martin_%28farmer%29
Liberals would love to disarm the law abiding (they know they can’t disarm the criminals) so that we become more dependent on government.
This was neither clever, nor tricky.
The Left will always try to take guns away. This particular situation is just today’s convenient excuse.
” it is easy for sneaky liberals to interpret the second amendment as giving Americans the right to own arms”
Well, not surprisingly, Liberals would be wrong from the start.
The 2A does not GIVE any rights, It affirms rights we are given by God.
The Amendments LIMIT govt. Not the people.
In Britain your semi auto rifle(AR 15 ) has to be set like a bolt action ,cock after every shot
Men do not have the standing to abolish rights given by God.
Even if they tear up the paper and burn the shreds, the right still exists and will be exercised by me.
The Zimmerman trial was SUPPOSED to do that, but it didn’t work out according to the script
Even firing the head of the investigation, who refused to file charges, and falsifying affidavits to skip the grand jury, Obam and holder spending $5million for ‘protests’, and hiding evidence from the defense didn’t work
The Newtown school shooting was a much better opportunity, and not even that worked.
They will never stop seizing ANY opportunity, but I think this was a bad one. It’s all about race, not guns, and I think for the most part it has backfired on them. It stirred up the usual race baiters and Occupiers, but they don’t need stirring up anyway.
Not clever, but repeal 2nd yes.
IIRC, the People’s Democratic Republic of Massachusetts has a law specifically stating that everybody has a “duty to retreat” and surrender their property to an intruder. Only if they can no longer retreat can residents of that state use lethal force to defend themselves.
What really sucks of that the NRA didn’t bother coming to GZ’s defense, and being so narrow sighted didn’t see the gun grabbing coming down the line.
I’m still disgusted over their love affair with Harry Reid.
You need to go back to you Doctor and have your meds’ dosage checked.
I don’t think they have the ability to repeal the 2A, but they never let a good crisis go to waste.
It's obvious from the beginning that this was one of Ubama's "under the radar" gun control initiatives, as evidence byt the DOJ sending community agitators to Sanford to soften things up.
I don’t think the trial was aimed at the second amendment, but I believe the Justice Department is currently trying to figure out how to make defending yourself with a gun and civil rights violation. I believe they are probably going to try to get a ruling that will elevate the use of a firearm to a very high level of force. I think they want to make people scared to use a gun to defend themselves.
The Left will always try to take [our] guns away. This particular situation is just todays convenient excuse.
