... Bill Hemmer asked the judge what he thinks we need to understand about what Snowden is telling us.
Judge Napolitano explained that the government has granted itself this sweeping authority without a national debate about how much privacy Americans are willing to sacrifice...
He said the government wants Americans to sacrifice liberty in return for the promise of security...

ya think?
As often as I can. :}
yep .. I don’t care or cair.
What say you?
John Roberts’ file must be pretty awful for him to cave on the Constitution.
I couldn’t live with 0bamaCare on my conscience.
These things are the things of dictators.
Next, disarm and eliminate (kill) your enemies, to close the deal.
Note that the judge rightly says, “Promise of security,” which is, of course, not the same as security, especially when the One giving the promise is such a complete fraud and liar.

So the judge says all you need is a debate to violate the constitution, nice to know
Whatever happened to secure the borders?
Americans have to sacrifice liberty but illegals don't. ok.
What happens when the government breaks its promise of security? Do we sue them? Do we get our liberty back?
Oh, I don't know...
"What a nice, newly minted Chief Justice lifetime appointment you got'chere!"
"It'd be a shame if sump'm was to happen to it, doncha think?
"An' you just love those Irish-looking kids of yours, doncha?"

I think Snowden says the government seems to think with a mere policy adjustment they have sufficient guidance to override (our fleeting notion of what used to be) the Constitution.
That would be in keeping with Barry's claim that the Executive Branch has as much right as the judiciary to interpret the Constitution.
HF
Yes they can</will.>
We already did give up some of our rights through force. 'airport security' is one, feel us up, detain us, only certain items are 'allowed' it's OK, it makes me feel more secure./s So I think he meant debate to give this 'right' up - like 'it's ok to listen in on us if it gives us a promise of security'. We had no say in any of it.
Hmmm, watching the 3rd video at that link, Snowden was working with a special team in Hawaii??
Interesting....
I had read that the adoption of his child wasn’t on the up and up. That’s some strong leverage if true.
The only reasonable thing to do at this point is to get Snowden’s ass in front a public Congressional hearing.
Way too much fantasy speculation going on.
What, they voted on the Patriot Act in the middle of the night during a blackout or something?
It should have been obvious to all concerned that Bush did not care about “The Homeland,” as the big phoney would say, or he would have tried to secure the borders. I blame him for much of our problems, as we lose the moral high ground on many things since Barry is just following Bush’s lead.
