Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...how was today’s drive? Got a new route pegged?
Today was a zoo....no time for anything but trying to find out who got paid wrong, and almost 50 not at all. Had to get checks out to them. Now for the fixes.

Thanks, Connie, for the red, white, and blue Tribute To Our Troops.
Hope your day went well, and your commute was safe. *HUGS*
I lost track of time this year and forgot about taxes. Dropping them off when I leave here. Then I think I’ll do Wendys for Thursday Night Out dining, as it is close.

Kathy, I am absolutely beside myself. I've been on this project for seven workdays and I have yet to have a smooth commute in either direction. This morning, I was again diverted from my customary route and it took me over an hour and a half to make it in.
The evening commutes have been just atrocious. This evening I used yet another route that I have traveled for many years. The beginning was auspicious, but by the time I got up into upper Northwest D.C. it was after 6:30 and the curb lane was lost to parked cars. On this route, there is a portion where you enter Rock Creek Park just before getting into Maryland. This stretch was backed up for about a mile or so and it took me a half hour to travel about one mile.
The problem was a disabled car in the center lane of Colesville Road. I tried to get around this on a side street, but the nimrods in charge of traffic patterns had made that street one way against me. After many machinations I made it into freely moving traffic, but the damage had been done - it took me one hour and forty-five minutes to get home.
The ironic thing is that this office is only three blocks west of the office I have worked in for most of the last six years, but as a result of one-way streets and no good way to double back to the east, it is virtually impossible to get out of town without substantial delay.
It sounds like you were working in a veritable hell-hole today. I hope you can get everything worked out!

Freedom Isnt Free
By Cdr. Kelly Strong USCG (ret)
I watched the flag pass by one day, It fluttered in the breeze. A young Marine saluted it, And then he stood at ease. I looked at him in uniform So young, so tall, so proud, With hair cut square and eyes alert Hed stand out in any crowd.
Eternal Father, Strong to Save (Click)
I thought how many men like him Had fallen through the years. How many died on foreign soil How many mothers tears? How many pilots planes shot down? How many died at sea How many foxholes were soldiers graves? No, freedom isnt free.
Taps (Click)
I heard the sound of Taps one night, When everything was still, I listened to the bugler play And felt a sudden chill. I wondered just how many times That Taps had meant Amen, When a flag had covered a coffin. Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children, Of the mothers and the wives, Of fathers, sons and husbands With interrupted lives, I thought about a graveyard At the bottom of the sea Of unmarked graves in Arlington, No, freedom isnt free.

Good evening, Meeky...((HUGS))...all is well here. My Mom is doing really well....relieved that my Dad is suffering no more. His frustration and embarrassment and anger losing his speech was really wearing on her. He is now at peace and whole again, and she is doing well.
Hope you are doing well, too. Is it spring yet? We’ve had 2 snow storms in the last 10 days.

Oh my goodness.....I would go crazy if I had to face that kind of commute each day.
Sending prayers with you each way.
Co-workers have any tricks to make it easier?

They do not, sadly. I can't take the train in either - we're several blocks away from the nearest Metro Station - further than I can walk at this time.
As it is, I'm spending 13 hours a day to gain 8 billable hours. I'm out the door before 7:00 a.m. and getting back home after 8:00 p.m.
But enough of my ranting! I'm happy to be pulling my weight, earning a fair wage, and not feeding at the public trough.

An excellent lesson tonight, Mayor! Corruption starts in small ways and embraces progressively larger and larger spoils. It is pernicious, corrosive, and insidious. We see its wages in today's society, with all of its worldliness, deceit and depravity.
I wonder what all of these secularists, atheists and "progressives" will do if the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob clears his throat?
