WASHINGTON Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who won a Nobel Prize in physics but came under questioning for his handling of a solar energy loan, is stepping down.
Chu offered his resignation to President Barack Obama in a letter Friday. He said he will stay on at least until the end of February and may stay until a successor is confirmed.
Chus departure had been widely expected and follows announcements by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Environmental Protection Agency chief Lisa Jackson and Jane Lubchenco, head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, that they are leaving.

Does Steven Chu?
Chu Choo Chooing outta D.C.?
I smell a scandal. Was he sending emails to Richard Windsor?
This “Little Chu Chu” LEFT the track a long time ago.
As the old joke goes, When God gave out brains, Chu thought he said trains, and he’s been riding the rails ever since.
Once this leftist SOB is out of office, I’ll tell you a story about this little crapola which will expose him for the schmuck that he is.
Well, whatchu know?
When Steven was a kid he was fighting with his young brother doing bad things to him and their sister complained to their mother: “Ma, Chu pee Chu!”
the Obama Bus has so many bodies under it, the tires never get a chance to touch the ground
i guess he finally gave out all the kickbacks to obama’s false-front green energy company donors.
Chu’s replacement will be much more dangerous, likely a straw man while the department is run by Obama directly from the white house, the way Obama ran the State Department.
It will be the same now for the larger cabinet. Obama will be dictator, and he will micromanage it all based on Obama’s fascist principles. Among Obama’s goals is to use the cabinet to identify his enemies in industry, and to define his capitalist cronies. Then the war begins against those Obama must destroy in order to control America as a dictator. He could care less about the economy.
“Potential replacements for Chu include former North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and former Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire.
Are you with me doctor Chu?
Are you really just a shadow
Of the man that I once knew?
Are you crazy are you high
Or just an ordinary guy?
Have you done all you can do?
Are you with me doctor?
“green energy push” = “uneconomic energy and boondoggles for the governmentally favored”
Disband the DOE. It has been a joke since Carter. Put the NRC in Interior.
Obama probably won't name Udall for that precise reason -- Martinez would immediately appoint a Republican to fill the seat and vote against his agenda. Obama already made that mistake in neighboring AZ when he tapped Janet Napolitano for a cabinet post and it resulted in the GOP holding the Governor's office for the foreseeable future, and it's driving the AZ RATs nuts. Better to name former officials to cabinet posts. Bush's big mistake was taking Mike Johanns out of Nebraska, for example, otherwise we could have taken that RAT senate seat 6 years earlier.
Time to cash in.
Obama’s people are leaving their positions because their illegal activities are coming out finally. Richard Windsor AKA Lisa Jackson and Chu probably have some smokin’ emails about how to create their socialist utopia and destroy the US economy. Levin will get these emails so Obama is cleaning house. It seems if they leave their positions they can escape charges in ObamaNation.
This man was a disgrace to his profession.
To have another GOP Senator for at least 21 months, I doubt he’s that stupid.
I hope he is.
Gesundheit (Bless you)! ;-)
What do the Interior, Energy, EPA, and NOAA chiefs have in common? The BP oil spill on their watch, designed to interfere with American oil production. #things that make you go hmmmmm.....
