In the wake of the Newtown massacre, the bright lights at Gannets The Journal News decided it was high time to criminalize ordinary, law-abiding gun owners in the area.
Under the guise of providing public information, the Journal News editorial hit squad, led by publisher/hitwoman Janet Hasson, created an interactive digital map on their lohud.com website showing the exact address of every pistol permit holder in Rockland and Westchester County.

Having never seen it, I don't know if this list is on the actual dead-tree edition. I hope it is.
I notice that all four of the top executives are women. Isn’t that sexist?
I always assume that agenda driven journalists are actually communists or communist sympathizers.
Damn.. that is BAD NEWS for the people who DON’T have guns...
I’d sue, if I was attacked by someone with a gun.
Somebody—either a newspaper or Lisa Madigan—tried to do the same thing with the list of Illinois FOID card holders a couple of years ago. As I recall the Illinois State Police told them to take a hike.
Publishing the names of gun owners was childish. It’s little girls tattling because they can’t get their way. It is immature to the point of mental illness. They need therapy.
I noticed that too, and in that connection I remember Ann Coulter’s half-serious idea that we might want rethink woman’s suffrage. Somewhat more than 1/2 of men have generally correct conservative/libertarian political views, and somewhat more than 1/2 of women hold Statist views, and it’s been that way for over 50 years.
Whoops - clicked the wrong “post reply.” My last entry was in response to Cicero.
As an aside, if a criminal reads this edition and know’s these people have guns don’t you think they would think twice about invading these homes.
Just sayin’
Here is a little info that can be used to annoy this stupid twit. It seems only fair, after all.

The “agenda Freaks” here in Tucson are trying to start up a gun buy back program. We are 60 miles from the most violent border in this hemisphere with literally thousands of illegals tramping through our county and drugs by the ton being shipped through and these morons want to disarm the public in order to make it less dangerous for the illegals. Through the looking glass boys and girls...through the looking glass to Obama’s Bizarro topsy turvey World.
Agreed.
I wouldn’t have published the info for the guy who made the interactive map. He’s likely just some poor schmuck who was given the task and had no input on whether to run the story or not.
The editor’s info definitely deserves to be out there. I’m not so sure about the writer. The story could have been his idea, in which case, yes, publish his info. He could have been assigned the story and been thrilled to do it - again, publish his info. It’s possible (though unlikely) that he was assigned the story, fought against doing it, and was told to get out there and do it anyway. If that’s the case, it’s too bad his info got out there too.
ADVERTISERS are just as guilty.
What the journaist gets, so gets the ADVERTISERS.
advertisers are just as guilty.
They do not react to boycotts, so give them the same treatment as given law abiding citizens.
make being an advertiser TOXIC.
Me, I think I'd rather remain anon. In real life I don't advertise that I have firearms. However, should someone break in a) I have a security system that will notify authorities - so they have very limited time to ransack/steal. b) they'll see the silhouettes from my latest trips to the range displayed prominently on the lower floor and know that they should maybe just flee for their lives right then and there c) they won't be able to find my firearms in any reasonable amount of time. When I'm home, one is always within arms reach. Others are stored in very non-obvious places.
As a woman, I agree that giving women the vote was a huge mistake, and I have been saying this for years. I am inspired by a quip by Alice Roosevelt Longworth:.”any woman who can’t get her own husband to vote the way she wants isn’t worth much.”
I live in this county. It is the smallest county in New York State and this newspaper is tiny too. Nonetheless, I give them credit.
Publishing the names and addresses (and aerial views of their homes) of the liberal media lapdogs is the perfect Alinksy tactic against the Alinskyites. In their feral adolescent minds anyone they think anyone left of Barbra Striesand is armed and dangerous. So they are genuinely intiminated when they are pointed out on a map.
