As an aside, if a criminal reads this edition and know’s these people have guns don’t you think they would think twice about invading these homes.

Just sayin’

Two ways of looking at making that information public. Some criminals might look at the list of permit holders and think "No way I'm going into one of those houses." Others however might think "I'll case the joint, and if it looks like they're gone, I know where I can break in and probably find a gun."

Me, I think I'd rather remain anon. In real life I don't advertise that I have firearms. However, should someone break in a) I have a security system that will notify authorities - so they have very limited time to ransack/steal. b) they'll see the silhouettes from my latest trips to the range displayed prominently on the lower floor and know that they should maybe just flee for their lives right then and there c) they won't be able to find my firearms in any reasonable amount of time. When I'm home, one is always within arms reach. Others are stored in very non-obvious places.
