We've only heard talk and do not know if this is true but it certainly must be, given Obama's shabby and insulting treatment of the Speaker in fiscal cliff negotiations. The latest reports from the Wall Street Journal and other sources indicate Obama has threatened Boehner and republicans with a throw-down public humiliation during Inaugural and SOTU addresses, unless Obama gets his way.
Why would the Speaker invite the President (which is only done by recent tradition since the age of TV, iirc) into his house to allow him to soil his hosts ?
To do so is tantamount to surrender. The Speaker should publicly refuse use of House Chambers and let Obama work out the details. I'm sure the networks will happily accommodate him.
Petty behavior from Boehner ? Back at ya'. Not in my House

Once he can no longer harm us, our children, and our grandchildren, I don't care He's leaving his scent all over the Supreme Court, and so far has sprayed the Tree of Liberty with Sotomayor and Kagan. Four more years to go.

Boehner won’t.
Pubbies are known for their folding on issues.
If Obama wants to the SOTU from the Hill, Obama will get his SOTU from the Hill.

the US Congress Boys club is so big on tradition they would never do this
They mighr be called rasist, ya know
However a SOTU broadcast of barry ranting his communist class warfare crap to a stone-faced nonresponsive GOP side of the House might be worth watching
I believe Justice Alioto has already said he will not attend after the USSC was dissed last year

Just thinking about the Senate chambers.
I imagine the bullet holes are still in the desks from the terrorist attack. Would be a dramatic stage from which he announces his next EO on guns. After all, assault weapons were used (you know, guns made for military troops).

Well considering this POS hasn't done anything for America except bend over for the banks and nothing actually for "We the People", maybe he should consider returning his paychecks from all his time in DC...

Boehner is weakened as Speaker, perhaps fatally so, but coups are funny things and often miscarry.

boehner and cantor will never do it... they are both dims and aligned with obama. There is a reason that boehner and the republicans are less popular than nancy pelosi... they refuse to lead... they are weak and will not fight. dims ALL hate republicans and when you alienate your base like romney and the republicans have... there is no one left to approve of you in the polls.
The dims NEVER stopped fighting when we owned all three branches of government... they fought and won much of the time... but when the republicans refuse to fight back as hard as the left attacks them... they are ordained to lose... just the way bonehead and cantor like it.

Let him... the vision of hitler addressing the people in his rants will easily be made. The SOTU is a joke... it is a modern tradition and one that's time has come to go. We need to drive obama’s numbers down and attack him every day. We need to turn the tactics that the left uses on us... right back on them. durbin commits treason in Baghdad before the war... he is reelected for as long as he wishes. harry reid calls bush dangerous, an idiot and the dumbest man to ever serve as president... he rules the Senate with an iron fist and is handily reelected. We need to learn that you can't win a fight without drawing the blood of your opponent. There is no VICTORY in DEFEAT!

The State of the Union has turned into a Hollywood-type production. All it needs is a red carpet for all the celebrity legislators, POTUS, military brass and those sitting in Michelle's personal box to walk on in their best TV photo-op manner.

And, just because he can convene both houses, doesn’t mean he gets to speak to them assembled.
Giving the president such a huge bully stage is pure drama.

I don’t think Boehner would have the masculine fortitude to do it, but if he did I would have regained some of the respect I once had for the man.
