BENGHAZI, Libya, Sept 12 (Reuters) - An American staff member of the U.S. consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi has died following fierce clashes at the compound, Libyan security sources said on Wednesday.
"One American staff member has died and a number have been injured in the clashes," Abdel-Monem Al-Hurr, spokesman for Libya's Supreme Security Committee, said, adding that he did not know the exact number of injured and could not say what the cause of death was.
Armed gunmen attacked the compound on Tuesday evening, clashing with Libyan security forces before the latter withdrew as they came under heavy fire. The armed group is said to have been protesting a film being produced in the United States.

So, the "arab spring" is going just as planned... The US Department of State's moderate muslim brotherhood buddies and friends have now attacked the US embassies in both Libya and Egypt.

Statement earlier today from the Obama administration:
“The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions,” the embassy said in a statement published online.
So, has Obama apologized to Libya yet? He’d better hurry up and do it! We’re really sorry that Muslim fanatics are killing our staffers, and we promise not to do it again!

The video coverage on CNN is startling. Really does remind me of Iran in 1979.

In the D.C. mindset, if this was a service member it will be no big deal, but if this was a State Department civilian, there could be some negative fallout from this.
We should send in Huma Weiner to talk some sense to her peeps.

I think an American death changes the picture. If this is a Libyan staffer working for the Americans, and the write-up does not make it seem that it is, then Obama has wiggle room.
But, if it’s an American death on US soil, at a minimum he has to announce a criminal investigation, doesn’t he?

What was that, 444 days?
Reagan took the oath, and IRan immediately backed down. They feared him.
They don’t fear Obama, and it’s an even bet that they think he’s on their side.

This, along with the attack on the US Embassy in Cairo, are fruits of the Arab Spring engineered by Obama. The Media and the Obama PR machine will swing into action to minimize this. One problem is the report of numbers of Consulate injuries and the one fatality in Bengazi. We need to get accurate information out and the Administration will try to shape and contain the reports.
