Kendra Alleyne writes at CNSNews.com about Gary Harrington, an Oregon man who was convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his property who's just begun serving a 30-day jail sentence for it:
"I'm sacrificing my liberty so we can stand up as a country and stand for our liberty," Harrington told a small crowd of people gathered outside of the Jackson County (Ore.) Jail.

You think it’s just left coast craziness? All gubmint is the same - it seeks control and domination. Ask anyone who lives in Idaho - the citizens there are being strangled by the government just as they are in CA and OR.
“All water is publicly owned”???
Can’t be.
Men’s news daily???
What the hell is that?
I heard Lars Larson interview this guy. He has some ponds on his property, but he’s supposed to let the water run off and soak into the ground because that’s what it would do otherwise without his intervention. The fire department is even against doing this because this is a fire season and they might need the water for their helicopters. This is in fact a crazy state with liberals in charge. I remember when our chief climatologist was fired by our Democrat governor because he didn’t believe in global warming.
This reminds me of an article published a few years ago about farmers in the Texas Panhandle waiting for the clueless bureaucrats at the USDA to give them permission to let their starving cattle graze their wheat land, because their pastures were exhausted.
That’s when it dawned on me that when a landowner has to wait for a Washington bureaucrat to give him permission to feed his own cows on his own wheat, we no longer live in a free country.
This is exactly why the tea party came into being and have grown, it is both parties, the liberal democrates and RINO republicans who have established this wacko socialist zoning control over private property under the guise of “do you want a chemical plant in your backyard?” This is so much horseshit that it smacks of foolishness only the dweebs could swallow!
Why a single American would go along with turning their private property over to the government (through zoning) to control is beyond my comprehension, but, here it is, then we all read with bewilderment that a fellow American is in jail because he was collecting rain water on his private property!
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeese!
I found it on infowars.com but evidently even the Bible would not be allowed to be quoted here if it came from infowars.com or the Huffington Post. So I googled it up and found it elsewhere.
One of my relatives lives in Colorado Springs. And the city has a similar ordinance.
Unfortunately the nazi attitude that more laws means better laws even lives in the hearts of a few FReepers.

The Idiot Future of environmentalist extremism begins in Oregon.
Watch for it soon in a community near you.
"The rain that falls on you? That's mine."
As a general note it is easy to get stamped to wrong conclusions on just about any topic. Not saying that is the case here. But some “conservatives” get caught up in the same fallacy as leftists in not knowing all the facts. -—Just speaking as a hydrologist and hydraulic engineer.
Is Oregon where moonbat liberals go when they think California has become too conservative?
Arrested and sent to jail for collecting rain water! Sometime even the Nazi death camp guards wouldn't have thought of.
“You didn’t create that rain. I did...”
Water resources officials say his rights are clear: He cannot store water without a permit, and he does not have a permit. The law exempts water collected off parking lots or rooftops and funneled into rain barrels, water resources officials say. If its not gathered on an artificial, impervious surface, such as a rooftop, then you need a state water-right permit to collect it.
Thats way different than the roughly 40 acre-feet of water enough to fill 20 Olympic-sized swimming pools Harrington illegally captures without a water right behind dams as much as 20 feet tall that he built without permits, state officials say.
Mr. Harrington has operated these three reservoirs in flagrant violation of Oregon law for more than a decade, Oregon Water Resources Department Deputy Director Tom Paul says.
Government at all levels must be reduced to almost nothing. that means immediately abolishing the IRS, then the EPA, then the government schools. And then keep going at all levels of government until 99% of these freedom robbing and prosperity killing government agencies ( monstrosities) are no more.
Why do democrats trust government? Look at the hell that government created with the government public housing projects, the government schools, the IRS , the EPA, shall I go on?
i just took the opportunity of that specific Oregon case to make a sweeping generalization!
Montana too.
