Post 'em here and tell why please.
Steak and Shake is a very Friendly place and good food. Do not know their Politics. When traveling always try and find one.
I’ve visited them on occasion when working in Iowa. I distinctly recall hearing Christian music playing.
If it’s a chain it stinks, you deserve better.
Wouldn’t be surprised. We saw a lot of Waffle Houses while traveling across the south. Still don’t care much for grits, though.
Here in Grand Rapids is a “Chain”, really only two stores left, called “Chicken Coop”. They serve fish, fries, chicken, slaw, gizzards, and other southern/country fare. Greasy and tasty just like I like it!
I haven’t been there in a while, but as a kid I remember that they had framed Bible verses on the walls of the dining area, and even on the KFC-like bucket of chicken.
Their shops have seen better days, but they do still reel in the business.
The chili at the Waffle House is excellent. I also like the fact that smoking is allowed anywhere in the place. That is in areas where the facists haven't outlawed it entirely. Most Waffle House locations are so small that it doesn't make sense to have a segregated smoking only area.
mmmm......whataburger has GREAT tasting greasy burgers.
They remind me of Drabble’s Galtburger. It was a burger joint with the best, and greasiest burgers around.
On one cartoon strip was the news that the galtburger had burned down.
Drabble: It must have been a grease fire.
Brother Patrick: Yeah. It started in the parking lot!
What a picture that draws!
We should do this at the other end of the state!
I was in a Cracker Barrel and saw a picture of Jefferson Davis on the wall; I honestly don't think they knew who it was and just found an "old-timey" looking picture to put up, but given their previous controversies, I wonder if that was such a great idea.
Sam Snead’s Tavern!
There aren’t many locations but the license holder is a patriot!
I’m a fan of the pecan waffle. I once saw two waffle houses in NC. One on each side of the freeway opposite sides of the same off-ramp.
My waffle house highlight is when the waitress stands about 5 feet away from the cook and yells the order at him.
Well?
Luckily my tablet seems resistant to the soda pop that just came out of my nose!
Here in PA, without knowing or caring about the corporate policy, there is Kings...always a good meal, nice service, clean and after local events like high school football, dance recitals or concerts everyone goes there.
There is also Eat n Park which is a tradition in Western PA.
Both are family friendly and open 24 hours.
The only thing I could say is that this is Western PA, the belly of the union beast, and so it’s a matter of perspective.

btw - I was responding to your suggestion of Pizza Ranch.
...sorry, I wasn’t clear with my response...
Was that in Roanoke Rapids by any chance? Let's just say that I found the one on the other side seemed to attract a crowd that Eric Holder would characterize as "His People". Things may have changed since my visit there long, long ago.
Denny’s corporate headquarters, according to The Blue Pages, 2nd Edition, is a huge contributor to the Democratic party. As is Sonic.

One thing our family really missed in moving from Dallas to Missouri Ozarks was Whataburger hamburgers and sandwiches. Still the first place we want to go when we go back. They’re just GOOD!
