IMHO, since this is a very important day of activism to show support for Chick-Fil-A and traditional marriage, I thought this thread could be used for FReeper reports and pics from their visits to Chick-Fil-A's around the country since there probably won't be much "positive" coverage from the LSM.
FReepers could post their experiences and pics and maybe even "counter protest" pics. Folks should maybe remember to bring a camera (cell phone) to take pics with just in case something confrontational happens.
Go FR and Chick-Fil-A!!
Boardman, Oh CFA was packed @ 3:30 this afternoon. They were out of all shakes. Crowd was friendly, staff was efficient and courteous. All around good time.
In contrast to that were the people and families waiting patiently in line. Smiling and having conversations. Someone was handing out small American flags and people were waving them. It was a great thing to witness!
I even saw my Pastor and his wife and grandkids in the line for the restaurant. LOVE them!
While going through the drive through I told the manager, who was outside the window expediting things, that it looked like a great day to own a franchise. SMILES! Then I told him it was my pleasure to stop there today. He was really touched by the number of nice comments from people today.
Going back tonight for a cold shake for dessert. Don't want to miss out on the fun.:)
Thanks so much for posting!! (My peach milkshake awaits!!)
Thanks for sharing your visit!!!!
(Yeah..from the look of what has happened nationally at CFA today, Barry and the dems gotta be REALLY worried about now, I hope they put the “cherry-on-the-top” at their convention by adding gay marriage to their platform...)
Thanks again for your posts!!
We went for supper at 4:30. The line of cars was looong.......
1/4 to 1/2 mile easy. We were in the car line about 25 minutes. My Van is too high for the drive through so we went inside where the line was several people widow and almost out the door. There were 5 registers running full tilt.
There were two police cars taking care of traffic. They had erected barriers prohibiting left turns from oncoming traffic.
Each register had a red lettered remember line..... My Pleasure. All customers said thank you and the counter people responded My Pleasure.
Drove by the one on Paseo Del Norte in Albuquerque around 2:00 PM. Almost 1/4 mile backup on the road leading to the entrance to the drive thru. Tons of people outside, and the about 1 acre dirt lot next to it was packed with parked cars.
When we left, I had the same sense of civic pride that I get after voting. Pretty cool!
I had a vanilla milkshake, and Tom and Elen (the teenagers present) had Cookies and Cream. I’ll have to get the little boys some ice cream at Walmart tomorrow: I didn’t want them to have milkshakes in the van.
My husband and oldest son have gone to the gym in Monroe. They were planning to stop at the CFA on the way home, but I suppose it will depend on how crowded it is. They’ll have to stop somewhere, unless they want toast for supper, because I didn’t cook anything ;-).
Sadly, Paramus is about 136 miles from me... not sure when we'll be in that area again.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to join in the Chick-fil-A fun today, but I'm glad you did! Had my first CFA chicken sandwich in Akron, Ohio last month... loved it!
The closest CFA to me is actually in Nashua, NH (86.35 miles away). We're up in NH once in awhile... we'll drive out of our way to patronize a CFA!
8 pm in Laurel, prince Georges county, Maryland...place is swamped, even this late. Too cool.
Woohoo! The husband and I ate there around 4P today. The place was very busy, and the drive-through lane was filled with cars.
Even though there was a steady stream of customers at the registers, the staff remained calm and efficient and quite pleasant, and all of the customers were nice and patient.
We took some photos during our visit today. I posted them on my Facebook page, but I don’t know how to post them here.
