My FRiends, we might as well face the reality that we the combined pro-life conservative movement and tea party coalition have lost this round (the presidential election) in the larger battle to reclaim our constitution and our inalienable rights. Rove, Romney and the GOP-e have successfully destroyed and driven off each and every pro-life conservative tea party candidate from the race and all have surrendered to the Romney camp. It is no secret that Romney is not one of us. There is absolutely no doubt that he has never accomplished a single conservative thing in his entire political career (one term as liberal governor of liberal Massachusetts and six years campaigning for president). In Massachusetts, he undeniably championed abortion, gay rights, global warming, gun control, big government statist mandated/socialized health care programs, liberal judges, TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending, debt limit increases, etc, and even though he's recently claimed a complete reversal in political beliefs and no longer despises pro-life conservatives or the time of Reagan-Bush, I still don't trust him. He still stubbornly holds on to some of his statist beliefs, like global warming, gays in the military, RomneyCare, stimulus spending, etc, so there is no way I can vote for him or join Cain, Perry, Bachmann, Newt or any others who are endorsing him. But I will not act on my prior promises that I would actively campaign against him if he wins the nomination. Our combined movement is already torn and splintered and is going to have to be mended if we're going to have any impact whatsoever against the liberal/progressives and statists after the election. To that end I propose a TRUCE among our conservative forces during the remainder of this election cycle.

We conservatives have already lost the presidency to either the Dems or the GOP-e, and if we tear the tea party apart, if we tear the pro-life movement apart, if we tear FR apart then we lose it all. It's far more important that we re-unite and live to fight another day. Even if we can't vote for a true conservative for the presidency, it's doubly important that we all turn out on election day or sooner and drag our friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers, etc, to the polls to vote straight conservative for every slot on our ballots. The only way we can win our freedom back is to vote out the liberal progressives and vote in as many liberty loving conservatives as is humanly possible into every elected office at every level of government all across this great land. To prevent a total loss to the dems or GOP-e, we must continue the tea party rebellion into November and beyond. Whatever else you may do, you must turn out and vote straight tea party conservative down ticket!!

We must continue expanding our inroads into the state houses and into every elective office in the land. We must continue building on our majority in the house and we must retake the senate!! We must help the conservative governors and state legislatures to fully restore the ninth and tenth amendments and reclaim the real political power away from the federal usurpers and return it to the states and the people per the constitution!! This way, regardless of who wins the presidency, we can cut his unconstitutional expansionist movements off at the knees. And if any executive, civil officer or judge dares commit impeachable offenses, we must hold the majorities so we can impeach and remove them from office!!

And we must salvage and rebuild and continue strengthening our conservative pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-borders, pro-constitution, pro-small government, pro-defense, pro-liberty movements and our tea party coalition. And we must stop ripping each other apart!!

Therefore I hereby propose a general truce among our conservative forces!!

The Republic we save may be our own!!

As far as FR's finances go, we're in the same boat as the rest of the economy and will have to make do with what we can raise. Fortunately, the big debts we ran up a couple years ago have been paid off. We borrowed approx $20,000 a few years ago from two FReepers to fund our national convention, plus we ran up another $20,000 in legal fees during the last couple of years fighting off Righthaven. But those are now behind us and paid off. We also did quite a bit of traveling each year for the last three years on cross country tea party tours, but I think we can now cut that back and remove it from our budget requirements. If we're fortunate enough to not incur any additional legal costs or equipment costs (other than what we've already planned), and cut the travel and a few other areas, we should be able to tighten our belts enough to weather the storm even if we fail to reach our short term fundraising goals.

Whatever the outcome of the elections, we are prepared to roar into 2013 with the tea party chewing up liberal/progressives and RINOs and raising hell in our never ending fight for liberty!!

We are the resistance!!

Let's take the enemy head-on instead of fighting each other!!

Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!!

Please consider not leaving it blank. It is better to put any name in the field than to leave it blank where the potential exists for anyone to put in their choice for you!

"Chris Christie is pro-life."

Christie's first decision was to select a pro-choice running mate as Lt Gov. She would take over if he leaves.

One thing I’d like to see on FR, as we look to 2016, is a general consensus on the ONE candidate FR is maybe officially supporting.

My first impulse is that this is the most important point I have read while lurking on this thread. But on second thought -

Let’s say (and pray) that Romney wins in November. The only way a primary challenger has a chance in 2016 is if President Romney crashes and burns on an Obama-itic scale. I doubt that will happen. Maybe the focus for the next four years should be on increasing the conservative presence is the House and Senate. Just because, for one thing and also to encourage Pres. Romney to steer to the right whenever he is inclined to waver.

Or vote Obama and straight conservative downticket, and get a chance for a real conservative in 2016.

That is BULL EXCREMENT. By all means, crawl over broke glass to vote straight conservative downticket.

But voting for Obama is as nuts as voting for Romney. There's another alternative. I remember what happened to Clinton when 57% of the vote count was against him, and he won on a 43% plurality. He got his ASS KICKED in the mid-terms. I am voting against liberalism in the General because it is the best way to make my vote, an oar in the water, steer the course such that whichever socialist wins, Obama or Romney, wins on as piss-poor a plurality as possible, with a vote count where well over 57% of votes cast, were cast in opposition. It would be a blow to the political gut, power-wise, for whichever liberal statist gets the White House.

A vote FOR Obama is an exceedingly stupid vote.

I’ll be writing in Palin.

That'll send a message.

Right here:

Voting for people who aren't running is beyond stupid.

It is worse than that. There is thread after thread anymore trashing solid Conservatives, in the most vile way, just for supporting Romney. The Bachmann thread a couple days ago comes to mind. She was called a whore and it was left to stand. This has to stop or there will be no limit to the level of destruction going on here.

Yeah, I know. I saw that thread and it was vile. Notice though that it was pretty much just the same handful of people that have spewed that sort of venom. It really isn't that many members involved, it's just that they felt emboldened because the majority who plan on voting for the Republican nominee (which will be Romney) didn't feel they could fight back without risk of being banned. And really, I'm pretty sure it was just one seriously deranged poster who was responsible for the really incredibly vulgar stuff directed at Bachmann. With the majority now free to speak their minds and support the Republican nominee, I think you'll find that fringe opinion will have a much harder time of dominating the forums.

Good to read this. It’s what I’ve posted on here thru the Operation Chaos primary season. I didn’t see any of the candidates as true Tea Party conservatives. I want to see someone emerge for the next presidential cycle who has been elected because of Tea Party backing and has a record to run on. So the best I was hoping for was getting more TP candidates elected to state and local offices. If Romney wins, those are the people of his own party that he will have to answer to. The fewer GOP-e, the better. Bottom line—NO OBAMA!

I for one am VERY concerned that the BIG FIX is in place already and it’s so well orchestrated that this DIVIDE & CONQUER PLAN is now the invisible elephant in the room

It is and it's firm...and yes divide and conquer has and will work as well...we've seen it here. It's was the plan and we should have seen it when they threw out there so many candidates running and further saying the more the merrier....it worked against us. The gop played every one of them....and created confusion for the voter.

So here we are. What a mess!

JR I respect immensely, but not even he gets to say where my vote goes/who I support.

He never said anything like that. The owner has stated that FR will not be used to campaign for Romney. I think that's very clearcut.

As to the other, posting on an anti-freeper site and posting here is normally called trolling. No one wants to see you get caught up in something nasty.

makes no difference who occupies the White House, it is still stock up time. The only difference it makes is if there is ammo to stock up on. We have a better chance of that with Romney.

I think your “politics of personal destruction” post kinda speaks for itself — or rather, smells. It has the thick scent of Romney.

My dear Jim, this decision of yours to make sure your loyal FReepers are not fractionated will help FR’s economy! I could tell people were rethinking their donations because you didn’t approve of them voting for Romney to stop the communist enemy Obama.

This is a wise decision and I personally feel more welcome here now.

I agree with everything you say about ROmney and the GOPe.

We need to start NOW to develop more than grass roots of a true Constitutional Conservative Tea Party (I don’t care what the name is, but it has to be planked on the principles which unite conservatives).

You have made my day with this post. You understand how we feel. Some of us will be voting Romney just to stop this takeover by enemies of our nation. It’s OK if you can’t stomach it.

Also, to everyone, we did not FAIL with the Tea Party. Real change, that you CAN ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN, takes time. What we want to change is to have a party which runs NOMINEES WE CAN BELIEVE IN. LOL. What the Tea Party did was establish that there is a large number of Americans who do not want Washington statists. The statists just wish to protect their own cushy taxpayer money, lobbying positions, country clubs, and seats on tv poli-chat shows. We want to return to the freedom our Constitution promised.

We had hoped our grassroots movement would have been sufficient to give us good strong conservative candidates that would have left the traditional RINOs in the dust.

It was a very good start, but we had to fight the statist media, especially Faux News, who had our parents in their easy chairs completely fooled that the network was somehow conservative, and this phony network bamboozled enough voters to allow GOPe to win with their Democrat with an R by his name.

We couldn’t get far enough that fast. We have a few miles to go before we sleep. But we need to PUSH NOW for the new party that will allow us to dump the GOP. For they will forever take our votes for granted, knowing we can’t go the other way. It is time for a third party that will knock the GOPe to its knobby knees. We can’t start soon enough for 2016.
