Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR), announced today that for the first quarter 2012, the Company has received orders for more than one million units. Therefore, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.
Chief Executive Officer Michael O. Fifer made the following comments:
The Companys Retailer Programs that were offered from January 1, 2012 through February 29, 2012 were very successful and generated significant orders from retailers to independent wholesale distributors for Ruger firearms. Year-to-date, the independent wholesale distributors placed orders with the Company for more than one million Ruger firearms. Despite the Companys continuing successful efforts to increase production rates, the incoming order rate exceeds our capacity to rapidly fulfill these orders. Consequently, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

I didn’t know what I needed, but man behind the counter knew and said this is what you need. Anyone breaks in my house will get it. I am 5’5” and don’t weigh a lot, but I’m no pansy when I pull that trigger.

I’m not sure anybody has even mentioned the new Ruger .22 automatic...the SR22.
It looks like the first .22 auto I would consider owning.

Damn. I guess I gonna have to wait longer to get the SR1911. Prices on Gunjoker are always way too high.

The article doesn’t say who is ordering the million units.
Us or Uncle baraq.

You had to send it back to Ruger? I purchased mine with both cylinders. But I do enjoy having both options to shoot. Didn;t get the 7 1/2 inch barrel. I like mine a little shorter; easier to hide if I want to under a nice jacket.

“Didn;t get the 7 1/2 inch barrel. I like mine a little shorter; easier to hide if I want to under a nice jacket.”
And there in lies the problem, they didn’t make the 7 1/2 inch stainless model with convertable cylinders.

The arguments are next week. The rulings won’t come until the end of June. Most likely the last rulings that they deliver for this session.

The first ‘real’ gun (other than my .22 mouse gun) I bought was a Ruger P90. I still love to shoot it and it is still my backup CCW.

I was watching coverage of the standoff with that AQ nutjob in France the other day. Color me stunned to see a Ruger Mini-14 or possibly a Mini-30 in the hands of a French trooper! I wonder what their foreign sales figures are? I wonder how many of those countries are threats to us here? Remember something (well two things): #1 Money makes the world go round for businesses like this -- they'll sell to anybody and #2 Bill Ruger senior (founder) made a deal with the Clinton regime that if he supported the AWB back in 1994, the administration wouldn't define the Mini-14 as an assault weapon. I refused to buy a Ruger for a good many years after that. Now, I may go back and pick me up another 10/22 rifle. But that memory died hard and ugly.
