CLEVELAND, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) – An “Occupy Cleveland” protester tells police she was raped in her tent over the weekend.
Cleveland police are investigating an alleged sexual assault incident Saturday at the “Occupy Cleveland” rally involving a 19-year-old female student from Parma.
According to police reports, the 19-year-old student was instructed by “Occupy Cleveland” personnel to “share a tent with the suspect due to a shortage of tents.” The suspect identified himself as “Leland” to the woman. The woman told police that after she had thought the suspect went to sleep in his own bed, she slept in a sleeping bag provided to her by the rally
The student went to school Monday and told a teacher about her sexual assault incident in Public Square — which is being classified as “kidnapping/rape” — prompting the teacher to immediately contact the authorities.
“Occupy Cleveland” is one of many movements taking place nationwide in the wake of “Occupy Wall Street,” which is protesting against corporate greed.

If true no woman deserves to be raped, but at some time they need to grow up and realize that the world is not all fun and games and that there are people who will hurt them if given the chance.
Someday these young men and women will become aware that the sideline cheerleader were sleeping in warm beds, living in place where it was warm, showering each day, eating three meal per day, not wonder if their property would get stolen, no fears of being attacked and wearing clean clothing.

The force and threat of its use is always there, regardless of "if necessary". This is one concept that your avg sheeperal will deny or avoid like the plague, because it kills their "I'm a good person for advocating this policy" buzz.

You missed my point. She DIDN"T KNOW the character of the man and should not have assumed it was fine. Probably raised by liberals to believe that people are basically good.
Or how about this: if "Leland" is a black man, she might have been afraid to refuse to share a tent with him and risk being thought of as bigoted.
In this circumstance to say this should never happen to people is like saying swimmers shouldn't get bitten by sharks when what she did was like strapping pork chops to her ass and jumping into a shark tank.

This is a tragic crime. A young lady who will be forever changed. She is not the first young lady to wear rose colored glasses. Prayers for her healing and what a tragic reality check.
