Romney [Obama-lite] up in Florida 30% Romney, 24% Perry, 7% Cain-Sept. 22-25, 2011
Public Policy Polling ^ | 28th September 2011 | PPP Polling

Posted on 09/28/2011 2:07:36 PM PDT by shield

Rick Perry's led the Republican field in every Southern state that we've polled since he entered the Presidential race...until now. Mitt Romney continues to lead the way in Florida with 30% to 24% for Perry, 10% for Gingrich, 8% for Ron Paul, 7% for Herman Cain, 6% for Michele Bachmann, 3% for Jon Huntsman, 2% for Rick Santorum, and 1% for Gary Johnson.

Perry had a poor debate performance in Florida Thursday night and our results suggest that the negative coverage he received from that did hurt him some in the state. We started this poll on Thursday night before the debate and in those interviews the race was neck and neck with Romney at 33% and Perry at 31%. But in interviews done Friday-Sunday Romney's lead expanded to double digits at 29-19. More telling might be what happened to Perry's favorability numbers after the debate- on Thursday night he was at 63/23 with Florida Republicans. Friday-Sunday he was at 48/36. Perry's poor performance may or may not prove to be a game changer nationally but it definitely appears to have hurt his image in the key state where it occurred.

Fox poll does have Cain in 3rd place at 17%

If he moves into a strong 2nd place, look for him to become the new piñata of the week. The MSM and 'moderate' Republicans will not let his polling to go much higher unscathed.

Says who, the Country Club?

I will fight them till my last breath and vote for who is best for America. Sorry, neither of those choices are my level of Conservatism. Sounds like the same threats from last election against the Tea Party candidates. Any one of our candidates could beat that half wit failure.

Pray for America

These idiotic sheep are preoccupied with prematurely settling for “the best we can get”.

I’m looking to the past and to the future. Another illegals-friendly RINO in the White House is nothing to be happy about. These same people would defend Romney if he is the nominee by saying “What do you want OBAMA to win? Romney is MUCH BETTER than OBAMA. We all need to support Romney to stop Obama!!!!”.

I agree, it doesn’t jive with what happened, with Zogby or with the new Fox News poll. I smell a rat.

Shove your false dichotomy where the sun don’t shine.

Maybe I’d support Perry or even Myth against Obama but I’m not backing crap sandwich Romney or crap sandwich with BBQ sauce Perry in the primary when there are still decent conservatives in the race.

ALL polls to one extent or another are a propaganda tool and are meant to manipulate people, puppydog!

ALL polls are nothing more then a snap shot in time.

You look for trends in polls across the political spectrum. This one has state poll results for Florida for Sept 22-25, last Thursday to Sunday. You can either dismiss it, like you’ve done, or take it with a grain of salt.

Somebody should keep a list of all the moderate republicans on Free Republic. They seem to bash whoever is the favorite.

The only candidate who has hurt Rick Perry is the TX Governor himself. Denial is not a river in Africa.

Hannity supporting his north east pal again then

I was driving home from work today when Hannity had mittens on... I got so tired of it, i changed the channel to another station, which was a african-american whitey hating channel (1010 AM, BALT, MD) the topic was something about most thugs being good people or something like that. Anyway, I just cant stand listening to hannity and mittens, reminds me of my good friends the hannity and mccain hour... puke.

People forget back in mid-June when Cain was riding 2nd place to Romney in the Rasmussen, NBC/WSJ and PPP polls within a five day span. Back in May PPP had Cain only 4% behind Romney.

You’re saying Perry could be viewed as sexy to women but you don’t think he is.?

or are you saying as a guy you think Perry is sexy?

This is just out of clarification so I don’t say something which is out of turn
