Gunwalker bombshell--"there never was a 'sting'"
Conservative Examiner ^ | 26 September, 2011 | Anthony Martin

An ATF source has provided reporters a copy of a letter sent on June 1, 2010 which indicates that the monumental scandal known as 'Project Gunwalker,' or 'Operation Fast and Furious,' was never a sting operation as previously reported. If such an allegation is true, then the official Obama Administration explanation for the operation is entirely false.

The commonly-reported talking point concerning Gunwalker is that it was intended as a sting operation but that it went bad when rogue ATF agents took it in a sinister direction.

But the letter of June 2010, forwarded to reporters David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh, indicates that nothing about the operation contained any of the elements of a 'sting.' Everything ATF agents did in placing guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels was done in the open and with the approval of their supervisors:

BTT. My general rule is never to ascribe to evil what may be explained by stupidity. But in this case the stupidity part turned out not to be the case. And that leaves evil.

So what could they really be trying to accomplish? Anti-gun propaganda, check. Planting of actual evidence against U.S. gun dealers, check. Justifying the increase in regulatory power given to an agency of the federal government? Double check. People just died for that. Anyone who isn't appalled isn't paying attention.

This story as posted is just the same 3-4 paragraphs repeated over and over.

Please explain “incompetent” and “stupid” in this context.

Do you mean they were bound to be found out?

As far as the basic plan is concerned, they still have not given up the idea of regulating guns in the US by pointing to the number of US guns going to Mexico. The Dems were making this argument in the recent hearings.

One of the lessons of history is that when a group of people want to control everything (the Democrats) they wind up extending themselves beyond the boundaries of their competence and capability. I’m starting to see real fear in the Democrat party. I think the 60s children see that their pipe dream is fading fast, so now it’s do as much damage as possible and put as much US taxpayer money into the pockets of our friends as possible.

That is why 0bama was such a perfect tool for the communists.

I don’t know if they were responsible for fostering it, or just taking advantage of it, but the

“melanin-based criticism shield” has been working to their great advantage. The Congressional Black Communists continually use it.

What was the first clue? Like maybe the fact that they never even thought about tracking the guns once they were sold?

I have a similar mantra I must remindmyself of daily as I work in a sea of Libs...

“In assessing any stupid action...Always default to incompetence before malevolence!”

That certainly applies to the sheeperals,
but there are indeed some evil puppetmasters
with nefarious intent.

Ok, I read the article.

And yes, we all know the operation was politically motivated.

But nowhere do I see “evidenceit was never a sting”.

Back Door my rear. This was a concerted organized and planned action by the ADMINISTRATION, JUSTICE DEPARTMENT,FBI AND BATF, TO VIOLATE AMERICANS 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

FASCIST/NATIONAL SOCIALIST WORKING THEIR EVIL.

Has everyone demanded action by their Senators and Reps?

In addition to providing a reason for additional gun control, I have always wondered if there might not be a little drug cartel corruption of the government going on?

I was hoping if this proves true, that this would stay corked until closer to the election, before Democrats had time to burn Obama and put up a stronger candidate in his place. Issa has been known to have some goods on this administration, Holder and the whole Marxist regime but it was suggested that it could be sat upon until which time it could really make a difference and actually take out the Justice Department, and upward. This may be those goods.

That's what it seems like - but could they really be that stupid?

Sloppy, not stupid.

After thoroughly cleansing Obama's background,
getting "stimulus" through Congress with special deals,
taking over GM and then giving it to the unions,

the administration must have thought that they'll never get caught. They underestimated the threat of the Mexican drug cartels to Americans, thought that everyone in the ATF was one of them, thought that gun shop owners were inherently dishonest, thought that the MSM would never rat on them, etc

Before the feces contacted the impeller, I recall hearing news reports that the majority of weapons used by Mexican drug cartels were purchased legally in the United States and then smuggled across the border into Mexico. Even if it wasn't true, it could be made to be true.

IMHO, this is an impeachable offense, or would be for any other president, except the One.
