Now, somebody tell me Herman Cain can't win! (Vanity)

I so tire of people saying: "Well, I like Herman Cain, but, he can't win." Well, I think the Florida Presidential Poll yesterday said differently. Cain received more votes than Perry-winkle and Rino Romney put together:

Cain: 37%

Perry: 15%

Romney:14%

And Perry worked his butt off and spent a lot of money. The Floridians ate the dummy's free breakfast, endured his perfunctory speech and then went and voted for someone who actually has some ideas and can put a sentence together and explain his ideas. I think it's time for Herman Cain to be taken seriously.

I enjoyed the straw poll too but, please, let’s get real.

Herman got 900+ votes from GOP ACTIVISTS. The 2700 participants were dominated by people who are very conservative, which is wonderful in and of itself but not exactly typical of either the entire GOP or the electorate, nearly 50% of which lives off the government dole.

Cain as a VP choice for whomever emerges as the final GOP candidate would be great. Herman would devastate Biden in a debate and would win the admiration of a whole lot of rather uninterested voters once they got to know him.

["I like Herman Cain, BUT....]

BUT>>>BUT>>>>BUT>>>>BUT>>>>BUT>>>>BUT>>>>BUT>>>>>

These people do not by and large like Herman Cain, in my opinion and already have other primary loyalties. Some may be in the process of having their sacred cows stepped on and it doesnt feel good I can get that, and empathize to some extent. BUT they really should be a little more honest here on FR if you ask me.

Sheesh. This is worse than DNC seminar callers. Youd' think they are operating from some kind of boilerplate template of sorts. Boring. Repetitive. Predictable.

One thing is for damn sure, all the BS about it was between willard and dumbo, was stupid on parade. I was really sick of that front runner BS, Reagan was behind until the spring.

Biden is a better debater than Obama. So by that logic, I think Herman Cain could absolutely clean the floor with Obama, in all three Presidential debates. No doubt about it.

Look I like Herman Cain but he only has experience in the business/financial area. A president needs to be more diverse than that. Foreign policy, dealing with congress..

LIKE OUR CURRENT PRESIDENT WAS EXPERIENCED?

Cain / Palin 2012 or Palin / Cain 2012.

I'd prefer the second, but the first would allow continuity after the first two terms.

Cheers!

I like Cain, and I suspect he could win a presidental election running against Obama.

What I have more serious doubts about is that he could win the Republican Party nomination to get on the ballot.

After seeing what happened with Lisa Murkowski, I'd fully expect the Republican Party leadership to Bork him before they let him get the nomination instead of one of the chosen party insiders.

They will try, yes. Good observation. But they will not succeed. They will be consumed in a Tea Party grassroots fire of biblical proportions in 2012. People are PISSED (and they are in no mood for either the MSM OR the Party Elites telling them who is “top tier” and who isnt. They are just positioning at some time to start shutting conservative candidates out of the debates, till you have maybe two or three RINOS left to pick from. Wont have any of it this time around!

Okay, I'll say it. Herman Cain can't and won't win. He will not be our nominee. It's just not going to happen. Cain is a good guy and the grass roots love him, but when it comes time to actually cast real primary votes Cain won't get above 5% pretty much anywhere. As someone else said, if straw polls mattered much, Ron Paul would be President. In fact, straw polls matter so little that Bachmann won the biggest one in Iowa and immediately plummeted to Huntsman territory in national opinion polls.

The liberal spin is...if he’s a black conservative, he isn’t really black.

Absurd, I know.

I agree wholeheartedly. Ever since the McCain debacle, I give the RNC a piece of my mind when they call, which they do quite often. Ugh! They’ll not get another dime from me. I tell them I donate to individual CONSERVATIVE candidates ONLY. Then I hang up. If enough of us do this, maybe they’ll get the message.

I guess Eisenhower was underqualified, having spent his entire adult life only in the military/diplomatic area.

“I was in the Perry boat previously but I have jumped ship for Cain. I think it would be awesome to have Cain be our next President!!”

Won’t happen. Obama would not run again, the libs would Hillary up and the dems talking point would be, “why do we need another black conservative running our country?”

And they would blame GWB for it.
