Sources say ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson is being moved out of the top job at the Bureau. It's not yet publicly known where he would go, but sources inside the Justice Department believe one option is a transfer to a position at Department of Justice headquarters. The Justice Department had no immediate comment, and did not confirm the move.
Melson's move would be another in a number of high-level personnel shifts, as the Inspector General continues investigating the so-called gunwalker scandal at the Justice Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Um...this particular official blew the whistle and spilled the beans. What’s surprising is that he was reassigned, instead of becoming metabolically challenged.
A small part of your scenerio you are missing is the official you are speaking of that violated federal law you speak about is Melson.He gave secret testimony on the 4th of July to Issa’s oversight congressional committeeIssa’s statements from committee show that they are convinced Melson tried to cooperate with subpoena’s from congress and was told not to as well as Melson gave testimony on his orders and how high up they went.Melson was a whistle blower and they want him at arms length now. As well as the facts that one of the agent whistle blowers that testified under oath like Melson and the others was fired. Two of the top dog officials that testified ‘I don’t know” were promoted to cushy DC offices.
Obstruction is evident.This will make watergate look like girl scouts.
Obama is throwing him under the bus hoping that the wolves that are closing in will be appeased by Melson’s carcass and stop chasing him.
And the $64,000 question is: What does Obama hope to gain by transferring him to to the DOJ?

E-Utilize this to also put a terrorist sympathizer in Melson’s place to further Obama’s demise of our country.
F-Easier to Ron Brown him in they’re control
G-Triple his salary with a non taxable was of cash in a swiss bank account as a bonus PLUS three beach houses one in Bora Bora and a brand new jag and caddie.
H-Tell him his family will be extra safe.
