Anger and frustration from dozens of Clayton County parents who say their children are going hungry after their food stamps were suddenly cut off.
State officials admit that something went wrong down in Clayton County at the office that administers food stamps and Medicaid but they're still not sure what.
Parents say they can't buy food without those food stamps.

I remember the Rodney King riot well also....an aside was that the first of the month came during the unrest and for safety the post office wasn’t doing home delivery in “the community”; the televised long, long lines of angry welfare recips lined up at the Post Orifice brought a quick end to that tactic.
I bet they can pay their cell phone bill, cable TV bill, put gas in their big pick-em-up truck and ATV. Then load it on their trailer and haul it out to the forest where they tail gate with their cooler of beer and buddies.
My son has a tenant who can’t pay the rent but certainly has the money to pay for cell phones for everyone in the household (kids as young as 8). They have not only an ATV, but a crotch rocket motorcycle AND a highly customized 4 wheel drive pickup truck - big off road lights, custom wheels and tires, a high powered stereo. Not to mention the 54 inch TV.
Yep, them food stamps are really needed.
Maybe the husband should get a job. Wait...what husband?
NAIL ON THE HEAD!!!
TEN THOUSAND PERCENT CORRECT!!!
I would bet all I got that most of these kids doing these “flash mob” things are kids from “single parent” households, which basically means mom-only.
And I would win that bet hands down.
I’d be willing to bet that the adults had no shortage of cigarettes or booze.

It hasn’t stopped them from driving their Escalades or getting the hair and nails done though.
End the food stamp program. Return to the way welfare was handled in the ‘60s. Distribute free government cheese, powdered milk and eggs, legumes, peanut butter, and canned meat. When I see people using food stamps on stuff we won’t buy because we’re frugal, I get pissed. We’re paying for their luxuries and sacrificing to do it.
“when (after working 3 jobs) she made it out of her circumstances and informed them she no longer needed their help. She said they were amazed. Theyd never had anyone honest enough to come do that before.”
We moved from NY to CA in 2001 so I had to quit my NY job. Since it was due to my husband’s relocation I qualified for NY unemployment. I think it was for three months. After three weeks in CA, I found a job and called NY to have them take me off of unemployment. The rep was flummoxed — said people don’t do that, and they don’t know how to stop payments. (She said I should get the money simply because I’m honest.) I wrote a letter. Still got the payments. Whatever...

They should try using money!
I did the other day and it worked.
Maybe they should go pawn the 42” flat screen.
Just wait until CA finally throws in the towel and implodes.
It's Sunday morning - it's possible the moderator is still at the donut cart.
This comment was rather entertaining:
"Tom Tilley7:18 am @Gary Taylor geez Gary! Little early in the morning to be into the ripple don'tcha think?"
Just wait - that'll probably be the one that gets deleted.

Back then you could have your glove compartment, in the car, modified to hold large packages of cheese.
I don’t know if there is enough room in todays cars.

20 recycled soda cans puts good food on a plate.

Face it it would just get wasted if its food that doesn’t come ready in a box most people don’t know what to do with it.
I was trying to establish you standards. I assue you people have vastly different standards.
But as to what happened to cause the need or whether she had animals, I wouldnt dream of dragging her reasons for the need out, whether I named names or not.
Your unwillingness to answer is answer all by itself. So I'm assuming "genuine" in this context means "needed to maintain lifestyle," not "starve without it." And I'm also assuming that she did have pets.
that's funny... i use this thing called dollars to buy my food. it's like food stamps, except i can use it to buy other things as well.
have the stores in their region stopped accepting dollars?
NYS does do audits and occaisional “unemployment “fraud” round-ups...not that I’m saying you did anything wrong. I just glad you never got caught up in one. I did the unemployment thing in NYS in 1996. Found a job after 3 weeks, informed them, and it was instantly shut off.
Note that these people have no shame, saying their names and going on camera about being dependent on welfare. Humans without shame are feral. They should either be kept in a cage or shipped back to the wild.

So they called to complain on their new cell phone, and then hopped in their Cadillac Escalade to drive down to the office to complain. They probably stopped for smokes on the way...
That is the main reason the government is trying to destroy religion, especially the Christian religion.
Government then becomes a god and the distributor of everything from food to freedom, all without a moral underpinning.
Tyranny at its worst.
