The debt ceiling deal will pass the Senate early this afternoon. No suspense there. But the vote will be worth watching for another reason: Three Republican Senate sources tell TWS that senators who vote against the deal will be ineligible to serve on the so-called supercommittee for deficit reduction that the legislation creates

Substituting emotion and stridency for facts does not make one more convincing.
IF (and a big IF), the republicans will show any balls...the can pass a Continuing Resolution for the next years (2012) budget for 3 MONTHS ONLY. They can use the second CR (Jan 2012) to extend or better yet, make permanent the tax reductions (the so called Bush cuts) or SHUT’ER down! The threat of a Government shut down will force The One to accept or close the government.
I found it. 2015. Not soon enough
You’re right.
The GOP is over. They have effectively marginalized themselves from their constituents.
The GOP is the new third party.
From August 2002 through the end of 2007, I served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council at the White House. In 2008 and the first three weeks of 2009, I served as Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council . . . I spent almost eight years working on Capitol Hill. I spent the bulk of that time as a policy advisor to Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS). Before my time with Senator Lott I worked for two years on the Senate Budget Committee staff for the Chairman, Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM), and before that for six months on the staff of the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, which was co-chaired by Senator Bob Kerrey (D-NE) and Senator Jack Danforth (R-MO).The guy's an establishment Republican from the get-go. He's in the tank on this sell-out.
Actually, that’s a retelling of an older, less PC joke...

Yep, a heck of a way to run a country.
Can they appeal to the USSC?
Our party is run by a bunch of bullies.
It's time to get on the phone and let the republican leadership know that we are tired of capitulation. We've made a difference and we'll have no one to blame if we let up now.
PLEASE URGE YOUR FRIENDS TO GET BUSY!
I sorry but it is impossible to take your posting seriously if you will not even bother to read the facts.
Not pushing any 3rd party dogma.
Just stating real facts for any Freepers that are interested.
Can they appeal to the USSC?
**************************
The whole central committee evasion can be appealed to the USSC, for what that might be worth.
Per that absurdity, a new thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2757507/posts
I just saw this:
Of course, I don’t trust McConnell.
They better change their minds or they can count on not a single penny to anyone’s campaign who voted yes!
I heard Rand Paul interviewed a little earlier. He seemed to have knowledge of what Hayes wrote, and didn’t seemed surprised or deny it.
The link in your reply is the first denial I’ve seen. Thanks for that.
I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more about this shortly.
folks this is not hard and fast, we need to demand these losers put a NO R vote on the pannel or it is not legit. Time to light up the boards.
Who do we want on the panel.
Who do we want off the pannel. (no way mccain)
