The debt ceiling deal will pass the Senate early this afternoon. No suspense there. But the vote will be worth watching for another reason: Three Republican Senate sources tell TWS that senators who vote against the deal will be ineligible to serve on the so-called “supercommittee” for deficit reduction that the legislation creates

RINO Backstabber Boehner:
“When the Tea Party and GOP finally discover
my capitulation raises the ceiling by trillions,
prevents conservatives from even being on the SuperCommittee,
allows us to call the tax increases 'fees',
and even funds increases in Obamacare,
it will be they who will be crying.”

You would be wise to learn the facts rather then continue to carelessly repeat disinformation.

Hey, Congress was eager to bend over backward and do it for him!

Seriously, one way entrenched powers deal with an organizational threat such as an opposing group gaining seats on a managing committee is to set up a smaller, safe ‘executive committee’. (Another way is to dilute the original committee with additional members, but that’s kind of hard to do with Congress.)

They say this crap but the truth is when the next debt limit ‘crisis’ arises they will have the same reasoning to just push through whatever comes out of the super duper spending committee because otherwise the economy will blow up and no one wants that. I just don’t trust them. They are gaming us.

Well that’s 70% of the party. There’s not much of a Republican party left without conservatives.

"Conservatives are no longer welcome in the Republican party.

Well...Then it just might be time to split off and start a Conservative Party. There should be enough Blu-Dogs Dems, conservative Repubs and Tea Party favorites to have an immediate impact in both houses of congress. The two party system no longer works. F***off the Democrat AND Republicans. You no longer serve the taxpaying public!

The photo really does tell the whole story about Republican “leadership”. The body language at that table could not be more clear.

No there is not. The husk of Statists left behind with the letterhead stationary will eventually merge with the Democrats.

I repeat, what this bill does is insure that the Bush tax cuts will end.

The underlying assumption (that the Bush tax cuts would necessarily expire) is wrong. Yes they are scheduled to expire, but that does not mean they would. Before this bill, there was a strong probability that the Bush tax-cuts would be extended once more due to the severely lagging economy. They did it last December with Obama's reluctant support for the same exact reason.

By passing this bill with it's CBO scoring--which assumes that expiration will take place--this bill virtually guarantees that no such extension will occur.

It’s really simple. The bill will pass the Senate today no matter how Rand Paul or any other fiscal conservatives vote.

Vote FOR it in order to be eligible to be on that 12 person panel.

The so-called commission is unconstitutional. Congress cannot sherk their consitutional duties. This commission is not set up ans a joint committee under existing rules of both houses. All those against it should file with the supreme court to have it recinded.

No way that I send one thin dime to the GOP. I may even vote for the Libertarian candidate in 2012.
