The debt ceiling deal will pass the Senate early this afternoon. No suspense there. But the vote will be worth watching for another reason: Three Republican Senate sources tell TWS that senators who vote against the deal will be ineligible to serve on the so-called “supercommittee” for deficit reduction that the legislation creates

Conservatives do themselves no favors when they engage in the Left's dishonest debate tactics.

Substituting emotion and stridency for facts does not make one more convincing.

IF (and a big IF), the republicans will show any balls...the can pass a Continuing Resolution for the next years (2012) budget for 3 MONTHS ONLY. They can use the second CR (Jan 2012) to extend or better yet, make permanent the tax reductions (the so called Bush cuts) or SHUT’ER down! The threat of a Government shut down will force The One to accept or close the government.

The GOP is over. They have effectively marginalized themselves from their constituents.

The GOP is the new third party.

I suggest you inform yourself of ALL the facts before you begin lecturing others. Don't just link to a rehash of the Speaker's propaganda and claim to know it all. Your source is a self-admitted RINO. Just look at the people for whom he has worked and where he has worked.
From August 2002 through the end of 2007, I served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council at the White House. In 2008 and the first three weeks of 2009, I served as Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council . . . I spent almost eight years working on Capitol Hill. I spent the bulk of that time as a policy advisor to Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS). Before my time with Senator Lott I worked for two years on the Senate Budget Committee staff for the Chairman, Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM), and before that for six months on the staff of the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, which was co-chaired by Senator Bob Kerrey (D-NE) and Senator Jack Danforth (R-MO).
The guy's an establishment Republican from the get-go. He's in the tank on this sell-out.

You are the one being "dishonest," both factually and intellectually . . . and calling other people names just because they disagree with you is one of the left's most common tactics.

Please show me exactly where my comment was factually dishonest, I'm dying to know (not really, I already know what you are going to say).

It's time to get on the phone and let the republican leadership know that we are tired of capitulation. We've made a difference and we'll have no one to blame if we let up now.

PLEASE URGE YOUR FRIENDS TO GET BUSY!

The whole central committee evasion can be appealed to the USSC, for what that might be worth.

I heard Rand Paul interviewed a little earlier. He seemed to have knowledge of what Hayes wrote, and didn’t seemed surprised or deny it.

The link in your reply is the first denial I’ve seen. Thanks for that.

I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more about this shortly.
