If Barack Obama loses next November, we'll look back on Sunday -- July 31, 2011 -- as the day he became a one-termer.
He demonstrated the one key quality common to all unsuccessful leaders: Haplessness.
In the most confrontational partisan moment of his presidency, Obama ended up looking remarkably powerless. He didn't get his way. To put it mildly.
The deal he endorsed on the debt ceiling will long be an object of debate for both right and left. There's so much for everyone to dislike in it that people are lining up to rage against it, even though it will surely pass.

No one likes this guy. He’ll be a one term President. No matter whom the Republicans nominate, the GOP nominee will win the White House and the GOP will take over the Senate. It sucks having to wait to get rid of him!
Gosh, this guy stinks on ice.
I hope his birthday party really sucks.
He didn’t get his way? He got the increase in the debt ceiling; all the rest is smoke and mirrors. Now he can buy his reelection and not have to worry about readdressing this issue before 2013. Oh, he got what he wanted alright. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.
He’s very “hapless” because he’s not very bright and would find it virtually impossible to muster his thoughts to defend a program even if somebody thought one up for him.
However, I don’t think this will necessarily lead to his loss or even to his sustained unpopularity. The extreme left of his party will come around because, after all, he’s their only hope, and they’ve gotten a lot of their people into power under him. The GOP will continue to be unpopular, particularly now that it looks so fragmented.
And the most important thing is that he will have literally over a billion dollars in his reelection campaign. I pointed out on another thread that he was known for confusion and inactivity when he was a state senator, and this had absolutely no effect once they struck up the band and he emerged from behind those Grecian columns.
The only thing that could damage him is the loss of the media, and I sincerely doubt that this would ever happen. He’s entirely a media creation and they’re not going to let him lose...and the billion dollars doesn’t hurt, either.
How did he lose, he got his money.
He will use it to further damage us.
He is still passing his own laws by using the ATF,and EPA, and other agencies to enforce whatever bad ideas he has , and the Congress is still allowing him to act like a Dictator. In two years if he does lose the election we are still screwed by his leftover policies.
For the MSM to disown him, they’d have to, first of all, admit their complicity in the whole “O” fabrication. THEN... they’d have to admit they backed the wrong horse.
Not gonna happen
He's a LOSER!
Sorta like the diaper full of shi% law called "national healthcare"???
the stain is a trooper....first he tries to kill us, then he tries to ruin our economy.
One wonders....what's next?
I think a lot of folks here are missing the propaganda point!
FReepers are usually quicker to catch on than this...
“0bama didn’t get what he wanted is the meme.”
That is the propaganda and when the whole thing comes crashing down in less than 3 months, it is going to be those nasty republican’s fault...because we didn’t give 0bama what he wanted.
They need, desperately need, to spin this as a failure for 0bama. That way they can lay all the blame somewhere else during the election campaign.
The GOP needed to stand tall against this plan and force 0bama to invoke his perceived authority of the 14th. That way 0bama would clearly own the matter.
As it stands now...the GOP will own the failed matter. The GOP hasn’t even caught up with the spin this morning...
How can John be so naive? The Democrats will wail and gnash their teeth, but it’s all for show. They got their additional debt, and there will never be any spending cuts.
You just have to wonder about people who rise to prominence as journalists. John Podhoretz is a clever and ungarbled writer, so he can’t be actually stupid ... and yet, he’s obviously blinded himself to reality.
The 2012 budget still has to be passed. O’BlahBlah will pee in his pants if we can pass a duplicate of the 2008 budget!
I beg to differ...
As of today, August 2, 2011...the razzzmussen folks have the stain's "total approval" rating sitting at 46%....exactly where it's been since mid-year 2009 (two full years).
If this rating does not drop...AND REMAIN...below 37%, the stain and his entire regime will be in power until 2016.
It's that simple.
Republicans and our side of the media needs to record and chronicle the leftist deeds of the EPA, Education Department, ATF, DOT, DOJ and all the other agencies to show the real legacy that this uber gremlin has wrought. There are going to be tons of leftist bombs that go off in the face of the right after they take over from Zer0 and his legions of demonic angels.
If the "Super Czars" can enable triggers on the "Pentagon vs Healthcare" argument, here's how it will go. They will cut the Pentagon alright...count on it! The "cuts" in healthcare MAY show a phony reduction in tax-supported care, but if they increase off-budget fees, or make even MORE mandates in the rules, there will be cost increases. Can't do that with the Pentagon - they will suffer REAL cuts.
The worst thing:
I heard a man say “It’s hard to sing ‘We Shall Overcome’ with a black man sitting in the Oval Office”
I guess they can do it when he gets tossed out for “standing up to the man”.
****Gosh, this guy stinks on ice.
I hope his birthday party really sucks.********
What really sucks is his spoiling my birthday every year (August 4th)
History will show that the Tea Party saves our Republic. History will show that the biggest mistake this country ever made was electing Barack Obama.
