Like they always do when Republicans do not go along with Democrats, the leftist MSM is again trying their best to convince the base that they are caving into the pressure from Obama and moving towards allowing the debt ceiling to be raised. As usual, when I read comments by many conservatives, I read that they are finished with the Republicans because they have caved to the left.
First off, we are talking a bout a media that has yet to tell the truth about anything Republicans say or do. A media that cannot find a viable life form in a woman who is pregnant. A media that time and time again fabricates polls to make the base disheartened and stay home during an election. A media that thinks the founding fathers were all socialist, and the historic document they signs is a living breathing document that they wanted to change with the times. A media that thinks the founding fathers wanted America to be subservient to rogue governments around the world.
As for me, until I see them cave, I will not believe they are. I will do my part to keep them from caving by continuing to send emails calling their offices, but I will not ever believe what the MSM writes when it comes to what the Republicans are saying. Especially when the reporter uses un-named sources. We have too many trusted outlets of news today to ever allow the leftists in the MSM to fool us into believing lies.
Remember, whether it be ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, FOX (at times), BBC, BOSTON GLOBE, LA TIMES, NY TIMES, ,SAN FRAN CHRONICLE, SEATTLE TIMES, EVENING STANDARD, GUARDIAN, USA TODAY, WALL STREET JOURNAL, WASH POST, or any other leftists rag, they all have the same agenda. They all want to promote the policies that Obama and his socialist buddies in Congress want. They will always lie to you, they always have lied to you, and they are not going to start telling you the truth no matter how badly you want to believe them.
So, STOP LISTENING TO THEM!
I know where you're coming from, but I have to take exception to this sentiment.
No battle plan survives the fog of war. It is a plan, a starting point. Once the fighting starts, it's important to IMPROVISE, ADAPT, OVERCOME. And do so better and faster than the other guy. IMHO, it's wrong to have a kneejerk reaction to different plans being proposed or discussed. Sure, some may stink. But that's to be determined after carefully reviewing each one and understanding its political and economic goals on the merits. Improvising, adapting and overcoming is not automatically "caving" -- on the Hill any more than on the battlefield!
Past performance is no guarantee of future performance!
It’s a new day, the old gig is up. And we can quit acting like we’re totally powerless to affect politicians in Washington.
Rather, we also need to step up and make sure we’re doing our part as well. The GOP has gone to the mat as it has so far because it knows very well that NO tax increases can pass the House. Why is that? Because WE said so.
I guess I’ll just have to be the one who slapps them into awareness.
It’s a dirty job, but some one needs to do it.
After all, when someone is panicking because they think they are going to drown, the best thing to do is slap them to get their attention.
Then when they stop panicking and stand up, they are shocked to see they are in but two feet of water.
So you think there has been absolutely zero politicial impact from the Tea Party movement and the November mid-terms?
You really think nothing has changed?
Ever since the 2010 election, I've been cautiously optimistic about the Republican majority in the House actually doing what they claimed they would do when they were campaigning: oppose Obama and the Democrats on federal spending. I was highly skeptical of teary John Boehner as a leader but, along with Eric Cantor (the Republican Whip) and the work of Paul Ryan on the budget, I'm beginning to become slightly more confident that the new Republican-dominated congress may actually reflect the will of the people. Gee, what a novel concept.
We all know the MSM is nothing but the Democrat's megaphone. They continuously lie, run fake polls where liberal politicians and liberal programs are always winners and conservative politicians and programs are always losers. The MSM operate on a simplistic 'Democrats right, Republicans wrong' mindset. That being the (obvious) case, the MSM are useless. Unfortunately, they still have a large influence on the population. Case in point: many of the links on FR take you to MSM websites for stories.
An MSM story that claims 'Republicans are caving to Obama' on the debt ceiling (or any other serious issue) receives far too much credence here. Too many of us (I"ve been guilty of this) assume the MSM story is factual and post our Jeremiahs and threats to abandon the GOP, etc. I'm sure the liberal trolls here love it. Nowadays, when I respond to a MSM story that claims the Republicans have caved on any issue, I always try to begin my post with the caveat "if this is true..." and I no longer assume anything the MSM states is in any way factual, especially when it concerns a Republican. Doubly so if it concerns Sarah Palin.
Just to clarify...the GOP has said for weeks that they WILL vote for a debt ceiling raise, but only with the commensurate amount of cuts.
But I agree with you that the MSM is mis-representing them at every turn to try to anger conservatives.
Look at the voting records of Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.
The majority of the time, they have not voted with their party (Republican).
Your right Jim, but as long ad we stzay on them we will I believe prevail.
Look, overall I look at it as we were all partners in an NFL team, and wee desire to get to and win the Superbowl. This is our freshman class, if they pan out we resign them, if not we replace them along with any veterans not doing what they are hired to do.
I am working on a piece I will post tomorrow about my NFL angle as to how I see the Republican party, and what it is we can do to ensure a constant winner, ie. our ideas prevailing after we elect them.
NFL angle because I am still not convinced there will be a season. So it will also help those who are already beginning to suffer from withdrawal without training camp being in progress, and obviously even if they have a season it will be very late.
The Democrats are far from monolithic at this point, with the robotic antiwar crowd going ape over all the misadventures. Do we engage in a campaign of subversion to point out their differences? No, we do not, because we like to stick to the issues themselves rather than engage in knavish tricks.
Ignore the MSM unless it is to point out what they’re up to when they try to fabricate divisions. Their craft and power are great, but we must win the battle.
Sure, there are a few cowardly scumbags like those two skanks, but to read some of the posts around here, everybody is a "RINO" at some point or another. There's no such thing as a 100%er, and we each need to draw our own line in the sand. For example, my senator here in Pennsylvania, Pat Toomey, is a great conservative but he crossed my line in the sand when he said he supported the sodomization of the US military. I simply can't vote for Toomey again. But that doesn't make him a "RINO".
How about Richard Luger though? I think he's pretty lefty for a Republican.
That is absolutely correct.
Except for DemoRat plans, it seems.
Their battle plan (Cloward-Piven) has remained intact and functional for decades with RINO Republican Presidents and Congresses' as well as Rat ones.
How about we make the Marxist Rats adapt for once?
Surprisingly, we hold all the cards, if the Rats (or RINO-Rats) prevail in any way, it means the absolute destruction of the American Capitalist system AND financial VALUE. America will be worth nothing, that is the final stage of Cloward-Piven, even though the creators think that they can stop it on a dime as soon as everybody is socialist enough to be helpless against government.
It just continues until ya have Soviet style Gulags and collectives, and Chinese style reeducation camps 'cause that's the way Cloward-Piven FINALLY cares for their "useful idiots".
So any "deal" to slow Cloward-Piven is an on plan win for the Rats, and we are so far gone right now that the US is bankrupt if there is the slightest loss of confidence in the Dollar, we won't be able to pay the interest rate spike.
There won't be another battle.
Good post, Vike, about time somebody said this. I doubt anybody is more opposed to the Rino’s as I, but to say Republicans are no different from the Democrats - something I see often on FR - is crazy. For instance, who is it right now that is opposing Obama? If I’m not mistaken in the house it is mainly the Repubs we elected the last election cycle. I support them.
I am inclined to think it is mainly Libertarian types who are so vocal saying no difference between the two parties. They naturally view Republicans - and Democrats - as their political enemies, they have a dog in this fight. On a conservative site such as FR, their game is to bias FReepers against Republicans means they will vote third party/Libertarian next time around.
That would put the drunken fratboy in charge with a pile of money. Granted that is marginally better than having the corrupt Marxist in charge but no thanks.
I really don't care what Demonrats think. Why do you?
I am tired of Obambam, Boehner and McConnell being Lucy and conservatives being Charlie Brown. How about you? O, B and M teeing up football...
We have their backs if and ONLY if they so what they are told to do by the base. Otherwise, they will think that the Demonrats are a Sunday school picnic. Their only power to sell us out is based upon unquestioning and unthinking support for these folks who are habitual treasonweasels on every GOP agenda item other than pampering the big shots.
Toomey was also an enthusiast for abortion before he was bashed into line. I don’t usually include Toomey in my litany of cowards in the GOP caucus but, if he is not offended by fudgepacking in the military, I will. Somehow, I have trouble imagining Pennsylvania as the Rump Ranger state (other than a few mainline suburbs and college campuses). Corker, Cornyn, Moocowski, LAMAR!!!, Nancyboy Kirk, McConnell, Graham, Lugar, and many more If they are not RINOs, then GOP means nothing at all.
Indeed. When they actually decide they stand for something and stick to it, I'll cut them a small amount of slack. Otherwise, I expect the poltical class to do what it always does, and screw those of us who work for a living.
