Thanks for that relevant and cogent post.

Ever since the 2010 election, I've been cautiously optimistic about the Republican majority in the House actually doing what they claimed they would do when they were campaigning: oppose Obama and the Democrats on federal spending. I was highly skeptical of teary John Boehner as a leader but, along with Eric Cantor (the Republican Whip) and the work of Paul Ryan on the budget, I'm beginning to become slightly more confident that the new Republican-dominated congress may actually reflect the will of the people. Gee, what a novel concept.

We all know the MSM is nothing but the Democrat's megaphone. They continuously lie, run fake polls where liberal politicians and liberal programs are always winners and conservative politicians and programs are always losers. The MSM operate on a simplistic 'Democrats right, Republicans wrong' mindset. That being the (obvious) case, the MSM are useless. Unfortunately, they still have a large influence on the population. Case in point: many of the links on FR take you to MSM websites for stories.

An MSM story that claims 'Republicans are caving to Obama' on the debt ceiling (or any other serious issue) receives far too much credence here. Too many of us (I"ve been guilty of this) assume the MSM story is factual and post our Jeremiahs and threats to abandon the GOP, etc. I'm sure the liberal trolls here love it. Nowadays, when I respond to a MSM story that claims the Republicans have caved on any issue, I always try to begin my post with the caveat "if this is true..." and I no longer assume anything the MSM states is in any way factual, especially when it concerns a Republican. Doubly so if it concerns Sarah Palin.

Your right Jim, but as long ad we stzay on them we will I believe prevail.

Siena; yes you are correct about them admitting they will raise the ceiling but only with the commensurate amount of cuts.

Look, overall I look at it as we were all partners in an NFL team, and wee desire to get to and win the Superbowl. This is our freshman class, if they pan out we resign them, if not we replace them along with any veterans not doing what they are hired to do.

I am working on a piece I will post tomorrow about my NFL angle as to how I see the Republican party, and what it is we can do to ensure a constant winner, ie. our ideas prevailing after we elect them.

NFL angle because I am still not convinced there will be a season. So it will also help those who are already beginning to suffer from withdrawal without training camp being in progress, and obviously even if they have a season it will be very late.
