Because Mo you make too much damn sense for anyone in the RINO Senate to understand!
You get millions of seniors with $408 to spend each month and I guarantee you will get many insurers fighting over their business. Prices would come down in short order.
Shut 'er down again y'all Shut 'er down again Make 'em do with less y'all Way too much to spend We don't want our young'uns stuck with our sin So cut that budget down to size Or shut 'er down again |

The next time they do will be the first time...
@1:05 - "There is a good deal of conservative support for what I laid out yesterday beginning with the Wall Street Journal editorial page today."
@1:44 - "Doing the right thing for the country is our first obligation, but we cannot force a result, we need to do the next best thing and that's clarify the differences between the two parties."
@2:14 - "They want to blame the economy on us and the reason default is no better an idea today than it was when Newt Gingrich tried it in 1995, is it destroys your brand, and it gives the president an opportunity to blame Republicans for a bad economy."
@3:03 - Laura: "While it puts the burden, it shifts the burden to the greatest extent to Obama, in effect there is kind of a vote at the beginning to raise the debt ceiling because you are ceding..." McConnell: "No, no. It only authorizes the president to ask for it. There will be no vote to raise the debt ceiling I suspect by any Republican."
Laura: "Isn't that passing the buck, Senator? Isn't that passing the buck of leadership to the White House?"
McConnell: "We've been trying to get this liberal president to sign a deal worth signing. You know it makes a difference when you only control a third of the government. If we were able to run the government out of the House of Representatives we would be able to get a result that we would like."
@4:40 - Laura: "When I see the New York Times on the other hand, praising the deal, Harry Reid seeming to be open to it, and even the White House murmers that it might be something acceptable I get a little nervous, why do you think they are embracing it?"
McConnell: "Because they want to raise the debt ceiling and of course we know that is going to happen. Just like we knew shutting down the government in 1995 was not going to work for us, it helped Bill Clinton get reelected. I refuse to help Barack Obama get reelected."
@5:34 - "If we go into default he [Obama] will say that Republicans are making the economy worse and try to convince the public, maybe with some merit, if people start not getting their Social Security checks, military families start not getting letters saying that service people overseas don't get paid, you know that's an argument he would have a good chance of winning and all of a sudden we are co-ownership, we have co-ownership of a bad economy. That is very bad positioning going into election."
@8:34 - "We had hoped this would present an opportunity to cut spending. It looks as if, it may change, but it looks as if it is only going to be an opportunity for him to try to entice us top raising taxes and as I said when I started I'm not going to be a part of turning the Republicans into tax collectors for the welfare state."
“Good luck finding an insurance policy for a 65 year old for $408/mo.”
Frankly even that’s more beenfit than the reality is we can afford!!but similar 50% cuts throughout DC would increase the long term probability of being able to do so.
Its been done before..
Harding cut the governments budget nearly in half between 1920 and 1922. The rest of Hardings approach was equally laissez-faire. Tax rates were slashed for all income groups. The national debt was reduced by one-third. The Federal Reserves activity, moreover, was hardly noticeable. As one economic historian puts it, Despite the severity of the contraction, the Fed did not move to use its powers to turn the money supply around and fight the contraction. 2 By the late summer of 1921, signs of recovery were already visible. The following year, unemployment was back down to 6.7 percent and was only 2.4 percent by 1923.

the entire RinoCrat Oligarchy has yet to figure it out -or admit to it-”they’re not doin’ it right”
We the People’s job is to show them that.
Correct...and that is why this plan may very well be the best one.
Keep in mind that if Obama does want/need some Repub votes on the table he will have to send REAL cuts to Congress along with his request for a debt increase.
This, of course, is what the GOP has been asking for all along. McConnell may get it in the end but he will have had to force Obama slinking to Congress with tail between legs to do it.
The only thing good about this sellout and unconditional surrender plan by Mitch McConnell is that it might serve as a diversionary tactic.
I want these debt limit talks to fail unless all the conditions put forth by Cantor so far are met i.e NO tax increases even through the route of closing loopholes unless they are offset by equivalent spending cuts
Ok just called GOP in my home state NJ and tore them a new one ..Who else best to call here . I friggin had it with these pussy Republicans ..Any suggestions? I’m on fire here They CAVED AGAIN those bastards

It is an anatomical spine model
Make that 20 years. You forgot Bob Dole before Lott.
Thanks. Bob Dole was so forgettable that I .....forgot him.
They are all so forgettable, I have to search for the Senate leaders. Same for Speakers of the House. Gringrich was the only one who accomplished anything and then he fell far far short of his goals & potential.
The establishment GOP leadership has been weak for my entire 52 year lifetime. No wonder the socialists have won every battle since the 1950s.
