Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday unveiled a

Well said. We are in a battle of survival. It matters not what letter is behind the names of the political elites if the result is the same. The vast majority of them favor big government and out of control spending. There is not a dime’s worth of difference. McConnell’s surrender is just an example of the blame game in Washington where posturing is more important than principle. The only motivation is to move the can down the road rather than face the problem. As Rush said today, we are running out of road.
Watch what they DO, not what they SAY.
The left is spinning this as “oh no, this means there will have to be 12 votes on the debt between now and the election!”
What they really mean is “don’t throw me into dat dere briar patch!”
I’ve been thinking about this since I heard about it and have concluded it stinks 6 ways to Sunday. Just dare Zero to hold SS checks from the oldsters and pin it all on him.
Why are they negotiating with the White House anyway? Just send Zero some good legislation with lots of cuts NOW (whole programs) and let him own the failure to raise the debt ceiling.
Stupid, stupid Republicans!
The McConnell plan will be a political disaster for the GOP. It will be divisive and self-defeating. A GOP that reaped the rewards of the historic 2010 midterms is on probabtion with the people who put them back in control of the House. Surrender to Obama will lead to a third party. This may be the straw that broke the camel's back for conservatives.
Sort of. Congress has set up conflicting laws. It has already passed legislation that results in spending, and it has erected a debt limit. When the mandated spending exceeds the mandated debt limit, one or the other has to give. Since Congress created both, it's really up to Congress to choose which has priority.
But, the one thing that Congress does not want is accountability, so it is blaming the president for the spending, and now, it aims to make the president accountable for the debt limit.
At any rate, it's Congress that is out of control.
This proposal (I cringe to call it that) is nothing more than abject abdication of their elected duties. I sincerely hope you show them what thunder and lightning is really for.
Thanks. I’m sorry that I didn’t make it clear that the comment was meant for everyone. And yes, you understand what’s going on.
I agree. Nicely put.
Being from Arizona, I just sent this to Sen Kyle:
Good grief! The deficit will be $1,600 Billion just this year alone! Yet you want to give Obama a blank check - because you know DAMN WELL that your scheme will make it possible for him to raise the debt limit forever!
Stop being such a pathetic pansies and FIGHT for a change! Grow a spine! Borrow one! But stop rolling over and kissing the Democrat’s rear ends!
Obama and his cohorts are out of control.

nice ad..but let me add..if Obama wins...Your all outta there...
The GOP is just DUMB!! I can’t believe how dumb they are.
That too. But when it comes to government spending, government programs, and public debt, all of those items originate from and require Congress.
And, should Obama be out of order, Congress has the power of impeachment and removal.
The Dems control the Senate. McConnell doesn't need many Reps to carry his plan forward. The House is where the battle will be fought. The House Dems will support the McConnell plan. It depends how much arm-twisting Boehner can do to get enough Reps to work with the Dems and get a bill passed. Don't forget that it was the Reps who helped Bill Clinton get NAFTA passed.
Mitch has said along that no one was seriously talking about not raising the debt ceiling. Were we not believing him?
Note my tagline, I will never again vote for a RINO just because he is better than the other guy, they both travel the same road and that always leads to a gulag.
I don’t want to hear how it is a vote for Obama, not when the RNC is no better.

Alan Simpson says Cantor undermined Boehner. “It’s the stuff going on in my party where the pettiness overcomes the patriotism”
