In an effort to stem the illicit flow of weapons into Mexico, the Justice Department announced Monday that all gun shops in four Southwest border states will be required to alert the federal government to frequent buyers of high-powered rifles. How about shutting down Gunrunner.

DOJ looking for “frequent gun buyers” is like OJ looking for murderers.

There’s no legal basis for this requirement. None. The reporting requirements for multiple handguns is explicitly spelled out by an act of Congress.
Presumably the NRA will immediately sue Obama in multiple Federal courts on behalf of hundreds of gun dealers in the affected states.
