Next month the Broward County Police Benevolent Association is holding a "Party to Leave the Party" -- an event coordinated with the Supervisor of Elections where police officers and the general public can switch their voter registrations from Republican to Democratic or Independent...So here are the details: On Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. behind the PBA headquarters on SW 26th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale, the union will have elections officials standing by to register new voters or switch party registrations for anyone with a valid Florida ID.

What are they upset about?

Because they now have a pension that is fully taxpayer funded. In the future will have to contribute 3% of their own salary into it.

Democrats “switching” to Democrat? I mean, I HIGHLY doubt there are many Republican police officers.

As a retired cop I say “Don't let the door hit you in the ass officers.” I guess you really are no different than the other union thugs we will have to overcome to get our country back.
Sure you can be Democrats, everyone is entitled to act the fool, but this “en masse” crap is just show biz. If you really feel that way about Scott just leave who cares why you want to become a member of the Party that sabotages everything good about America? Just go and STFU.

Broward County................... LOL, NYC Annex!!

In NYC, police officers already contribute to their pensions but Florida police officers don't think they should contribute anything towards theirs.

What are they upset about?

They are upset because the eeeeeeevilllll Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill forcing them to pay 3%, that's THREE-PerCent, Tres Percento, to their pension fund.

And now, that Cad, that Bounder, that Scum, that Nefarious Nudnik of a Governor who is beholden to special interests that line his pockets, that unmitigated conservative disaster of a *shudder* businessman who dared speak out against Hillary-Care when it was the "cause du jour of the Clinton administration, this knave who would force poor, defenseless welfare recipients to pass drug tests in order to receive benefits, this repulsive Republican will be, just to top things off, laying off 1600 state employees!!!!!

By the way, I hear that the number of Republicans in Broward County only slightly outnumber the total year-round, human residents of the Everglades.

Do I really need the "/sarcasm" tag?

So the UNION just happens to have elections officials hanging out at their HQ, eh?

What are they upset about?

In addition to the fact he is a republican, the unions are upset with the governor for two major reasons:

1 - The governor promoted and signed a budget that requires public employees to begin contributing three percent of their salary to help finance their retirement plans (previously they contributed zero).

2 - The Governor turned down federal seed money to start construction of a low speed rail system from the Florida west coast to Orlando.

The federal seed money was only a small fraction of what the project would have cost to build and operate. The remainder of the construction cost and the annual shortfall in operating revenue would have required new state and/or local taxes.

The governor said he would only agree to the project if backers could develope a business plan for a self supporting rail system that would not require an increase in taxes.

Of course they could not do so, even using Pelosi style bogus bookkeeping and inflated projections of ridership and revenue.

But the project would have created a lot of union jobs.

So the unions are rebel-rousing all over the state in an effort to poison voters against the Republican governor. In so doing their big hope is that they can swing voters against republicans in the 2012 presidebntial election.

Donut munchers not getting enough in kickbacks, stolen stuff from the evidence locker, shaking down pimps/drug dealers and whores, fake worker's comp injuries and early overtime inflated retirements.

I guess they're thinking about making them actually work, huh?

And.....Gov. Rick Scott pisses the media off even more so every Saturday when he blasts recorded telephone messages to registered Republican voters, not sure if it goes to Dems and Indys, touting the week's progress regarding bills he has signed, and the latest "Shrinking" unemployment numbers, which continue to fall in Florida under his administration.

Since the media enjoys lambasting him in every issue of nearly every state paper, Scott goes Reagan one better at getting past the media and Dems, and phones the people directly.

That’s great N. Theknow. Hub and I were talking today and we need a candidate just like that. One that will not be afraid to take it to BO and the Demonrats and point out how they’re all in agreement to destroy this country. To hell with civility and they should also point out the left-leaning, corrupt media we have in this country that will demonize Conservatives and cover up for Demonrats! This HAS to be a “gloves off” campaign. The survival of our country depends on it.

Sounds like a pack of 3rd graders who are crying that their lollipops are being taken away. Let 'em leave. We don't need them.

I'd prefer if such selfish babies weren't even on the force.
