Palin: Dream Act is a 'usurper'

Unless you didngt read FRee republic during 2007 and 2008 thats no excuse
Romneys supporet of illegal aliens was all though these threads every week at least...
I had a weekly thread for Terry Anderson and I made sure Romneys bad record on illegal aliens was well documented
http://immigration.about.com/od/immigrationlawandpolicy/a/palin.htm
Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?
I don’t know, I don’t know. That’s a good question.
As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.
What about the fact that “invest heavily in infrastructure” is well known code for “invest heavily in infrastructure?”
The fool’s imagination tells him everything but the truth.
Palin: Immigrants should stand in line and follow the rules to become a US citizen. I would like to see that continue.
To be clear the comments to be posted were in Oct. 2008.
;-\
Sarah gives another position on an issue. Press ought to be reporting on that.
He still is. ;->
The quote is from an interview with Rusty Humphries in 2009. I notice Sarah, in true politician fashion, only answered half of the question - her position on closing our southern borders.
Nice quote but not a word in it about the millions of illegals already here...and that is where palin goes off the rails.
And she has said nothing up until now with this off-the-cuff response to the Dream Act.
In your eyes and her eyes there has been 12 million illegal aliens in our country for the last 10 years. No gain, no loss.
In my eyes, I went to the Memorial Day Parade here in Los Angeles and saw our Mayor Tony Villaraigosa sitting in an old Chevy waiving at the crowd while stopped in front of a medical Marijuana store.
I saw not one, but two, groups of Mexicans astride their horses waiving a Mexican Flag. And I saw the Viallarta (spelling) markets entry to the parade. I didnt see even one light colored ponytail in the local school marchers.
I saw very few American flags.
Gee, shame on me for not following your weekly thread....now...how about dealing with the topic at hand...palin’s amnesty-lite statements...
Actually, Palin puts on a strong offense in defending Israel.
When most politicians say “invest in infrastructure”, they really mean paying off their cronies. The infrastructure never seems to be improved.
When Sarah Palin says to invest in infrastructure, she really means FIX IT. She has a good sense of getting value for the dollar spent.
That answers this:
Poor N.J. districts must receive $500M more in school funding, State Supreme Court rules
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/05/abbott_districts_must_receive.html
Trenton, New Jersey Supreme Court, in a 3-2 ruling, has ordered the state to spend an additional $500 million on public education in the poor districts.
The majority opinion was written by Associate Justice Jaynee LaVecchia.
Associate Justice Barry Albin concurred.
Associate Justice Roberto Rivera-Soto dissented and was joined by Associate Justice Helen Hoens.
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner and Associate Justice Virginia Long recused themselves.
Indeed she does. I have more issue with her specific choice of words rather than the overall sentiment. As I said though, it was a 2 second soundbite where there wasn’t time to delve deeply into the issue.
“I dont know Romneys position.”
Pick your favorite.
It will be Romney’s posiiton, while he’s talking to you.
Curious statement that. "and if they are not going to follow the rules they should not be in our country." They shouldn't be in our country period. What rules is she talking about?
This is the language used by Obama in is 2010 STOU address, "We should continue the work of fixing our broken immigration system," he said, "to secure our borders and enforce our laws, and ensure that everyone who plays by the rules can contribute to our economy and enrich our nation.
From Palin's famous interview on Univision

The sad part is, I do not see the majority of American citizens upset and resisting the invasion from the south.
It is like Eric Hoffer said:
“It is a perplexing and unpleasant truth that when men already have “something worth fighting for,” they do not feel like fighting.”
