(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.

The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

I didn’t try to open it. I copied the substance. The ledger lines, the signatures, some of the boxes with checks in them, and the last digit of the BC# show up fine.

I saved it as a PDF so I could post it to my blog and show you what I’m talking about. Unfortunately, Wordpress is not letting me post anything right now. Good grief.

Someone should take the asserted Certificate, abuse the layers, and make themselves the person born on that same document.

Why would he had been adopted in Hawaii? Wouldn’t he had been adopted in Indonesia? Why would Hawaii be aware of it at all?

For that matter, what evidence is there that he was actually adopted? Not all step-fathers adopt their step-children.

I am not so interested in this COLB form as a question of eligibility as I am about who is this guy? Where did he come from? What is his past. I think once you uncover the actual COLB you get a start on who he is.

And yet after more than 2 years of controversy, all of a sudden 0dumbo releases another COLB form and calls a press conference to announce it? And Lt Colonel Larkin is sitting in prison in Leavenworth because he asked to see the birth certificate when given orders to go to Afghanistan?

CORRECTION to my original post. Post #849 below was the initial post on this thread regarding the layering.

Whoa. I was listening to Rush just now...and he was talking about an email he received from someone who said that this document is an obvious fraud...and here’s how you can check.

Download the PDF from above and open it in Adobe Illustrator, and you can see all the layers showing how the document was pieced together.

So... I did. I downloaded the file...and opened it in Illustrator...and indeed... this document has been pieced together. It’s a layered file. You can click and hide various layers until the screen is blank.

Now... look. I’m tired of this stupid argument. I really am. But as a graphic artist, I can tell you that if someone scanned in an image and saved it as a PDF, it would have been a solid, single layer. The only way that I know of for it to be broken down into layers is if it had been manipulated and created digitally.

Feel free to call me a whatever...but see for yourself if what that person Rush mentioned said is right.

Due to the nature of my ping lists, I’ve run into a huge number of trolls over the years.

Ah, so they’re claiming there is supplementary information? If the rest of this was really what they have in their files there would not need to be supplemental information. Supplemental information is needed for LATE and/or AMENDED birth certificates, and that last line on this form has to be filled out if it is late or amended.

One other note on that, I would suspect that the default for all government scanners is to have OCR turned on for easier filing. Doesn’t always work with documents like this though :)

Of course, now if they release a TIF file with no compression, it’ll be a conspiracy that they released the ‘obvious forgery’ with a ‘better forgery’. No win once again.

Yeah I know what you mean. My It’s time to talk about the economy comment was directed at someone who claims that the release of Obama's BC today is somehow a "defeat" of the "birthers" when in reality it's a defeat for Karl Rove and those who claimed Obama released the BC long ago. Otherwise, it would not have been news today that he released it.

Also, look at the Department of Health serial number in the top right corner, the “61 10641”. Blow it up to about 400%. Look at the green background lines, particularly the one inside the “zero”. The green lines are at an angle that matches the number. If the green lines are on the paper itself, why do they not line up with the green lines directly above the “61 10641”? Also, look at the horizontal green lines within the number, do they line up with the ones to the left and right of the number?
