Breaking: Fox News Hires Keith Olbermann
After careful consideration of his qualifications, Fox News has hired Keith Olbermann.
He’s an insult to custodians everywhere!
I'm still wondering HOW it got on the Breaking sidebar and News/Activism. I always post to Bloggers/Personal. Don't know if I just clicked the wrong link or if maybe the "Breaking" part of the title caused a script to go haywire at FR. I'll admit I like how it worked out. A lot of folks (especially me) have had a lot of fun with it.
I'm pretty sure Fox will hire Olby right after Barney Frank joins the Tea Party. Still wondering how my post ended up on News/Activism. Either I clicked the wrong link or the "Breaking" in the title caused a script at FR to send it to the wrong place. Still, it's been fun. I'm just hoping the Powers That Be at FR don't think I did it on purpose. I guess given the number of times the moderator has deleted posts here it's pretty obvious they know about it by now.
LOL!!!
“NOBODY has ever accused Olberman of having any talent.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Nobody who counts maybe but there are a lot of DU dingbats who think he is a genius.
I am no Alan Colmes fan but he is far from “the stupidest” liberal they could find. The ugliest for sure but not the stupidest.
That may be why FR hasn't yet moved the post to Bloggers/Personal (see #222). They may also be enjoying the fun.
I emailed the image - with the "Breaking" headline as the subject - to several of my staunch right-wing friends and family (I'm actually a bit of a middle-grounder). An editor friend of mine accused me of trying to give her a heart attack. My elder brother responded with "Mom should have whupped you more when you were a kid."
My left-leaning friends (I only have a few, I promise) got a little huffy about it since they of course feel Olby is an oracle of truth and wisdom. I didn't argue with them about it. Arguing with a liberal is like arguing with a drunk. You can't win. Just take his car keys and drive him home.
You surely may!
(...wish I had thought of it! *evil grin*)
Keith is DEFINITELY not qualified for that job.
Obviously not that many, he had some of the worst ratings of any cable program.
What was comment #16 that got pulled? Did you have anything to do with comments 2-15?
If memory serves he was the top-rated talking head (or choose another part of the anatomy if you wish) at MSNBC. Even so, I'd wager that he was rated below even the least-popular shows at Fox.
I'll be curious to see who, if anyone, hires him. CNN, in spite of their questionable politics, does strive toward civility and credibility. That leaves Olby out. Fox's bread and butter is balance and credibility so he certainly wouldn't make the cut there.
But would he leave MSNBC without having somewhere else to go? He'll turn up somewhere, but I've no idea who would be interested in him.
I could not bear to read it!
I wish I had, I would have had a better night's sleep.
Why have I come to a point that I could even believe it ?
Think Peter Principle. Everyone gets promoted to their level of incompetence. As long as you are competent, you keep getting promoted.
You and me both. I like to have had a heart attack. I was already to delete Fox news off my TV and computer. That was a MEAN headline post!!! :-)
This might not be applicable but is a great truth
LOL, this pic is going on my FB. I have lots of friends who will be very, very happy that Keith has found suitable employment. Love it.
Fox has drifted a bit leftward lately. Some speculate it's because of the Saudi investor (I forget his name) who dumped a ton of money into NewsCorp. They're still by far the most credible cable news source, imo. But I wonder what will become of them if they continue this discreet "sanitizing" of their news. Time will tell.
It wasn't supposed to be in this forum. I swear, I thought I posted under Bloggers/Personal. I may have hit the wrong link. It's turned into quite a "Gotcha" here in the News/Activism section. Good fun overall, but I hope I don't PO the management. Hopefully they'll forgive me just this once.
