... "Republicans, however, later agreed to pass it by unanimous consent."

I know there are people like that still in the military, and in civilian life. But I feel sad for those guys, and all of them that have put their life on the line for "the American way". I so appreciate their effort, but I'm starting to wonder if it was worth it.
Ack. Crap like this is one reason I've been expanding the homestead crop every year and engaging in seed saving and exchanges.
As a fan of CSAs, I have to wonder what the future holds for those operations.
Yep. We do organic gardening and have done so for many years and need it for food. We still have winter lettuce after days of freezing cold weather! - The rest of December and I guess into January is likely to be feeling like a LONG TIME. - This will jump up and roll back and bite them, the way they’ve done in this lame duck session. Stuff they could have passed a hundred times over in the last two years with the huge majorities they’ve had.
I’m kinda lookin’ forward to going even FURTHER ‘underground’ than I already am. *SMILE*
Join me? :)
Precisely.
Never give a gun to a child. Never give a debit card to a crack addict. AND NEVER GIVE POWER TO DEMOCRATS.

The way things are going, we may end up having to adopt some of the methods used by Pot Farmers....
Heck - some day, we may have to hide our beanstalks between the rows of marijuana plants... ;)
Just Dang! We all Thought this was dead when the omnibus bill failed!
DeMint signed onto this thing too, eh?
Right.
Thank you.
As a Tea Party person who has joined my local Republican Executive Committee I've seen this with my own two eyes. The Tea Party tried to elect some very decent leaders in our local GOP group last month, but fell far short because enough Tea Partiers are not participating. :(
Thanks Laz, excellent and powerful.
The bill itself started in the house. The Senate has attached an item to a bill that started in the house. So this “meets” the constitutional requirements that all BILLs that do spending originate in the house. It doesn’t matter whether a specific provision of the bill starts in the senate or not — obviously, they expect the Senate to amend bills from time to time, and then have the house/senate conference to fix it (or as the current cheats in DC do it, by just sending the bills back and forth, to avoid having to HAVE conference committees where a republican might get to talk).
I know it is published in “The Hill”.
But I can find no reference to it anywhere on the senate.gov website.
Nothing.
It also seems very illogical for the Pubbies to do this. Cogburn especially. But some to the Pubbies have taken “big” money from “Global Agriculture”. It that is the deal, they are Traitors like the Dems.
Well since your job is to stir up animosity against Republicans, what else would you do???
We have no representation... we have been telling them for weeks - MONTHS, and they do not listen.
This is FOOD, that we cannot live without, and that we SHOULD have total freedom to choose who we get it from. Our health, and the health of our children is directly related to the food we consume, and to be able to choose without restriction is the ultimate freedom.
They have crossed the last line.
May God give us strength.

I’m not trying to be obtuse - just looking for a little bit of ‘sense’ somewhere in all of this... ;)
So, since the Continuing Resolution was amended in the Senate, then it hasn’t *passed*, since it must go back to Conference (or whatever) to be reconciled with the House (unamended) version...
IOW, the Gummint goes out of business in about an hour-and-a-half???
I support the tea party, thank you for your concern.
Frankly what have Republicans done to deserve, or expect support?
I realize they’re in the minority, but they could at least try. Filibuster. Fight.
Every minute of the “lame duck” session should have been one knock-down drag out fight.
Perhaps I just didn’t see it, but they didn’t seem to be fighting.
Fact is, it appeared to this poster, that the GOP came to the conclusion it was easier to go ahead and let all this through before the next session, so they wouldn’t have to fight.
Sorry, but that’s what it seems like.
Sounds like they’re paying back for extending Bush cuts. They still don’t understand.
