Basically a prohibition on selling children’s clothes that didn’t pass “inspection” for fire safety or some such.

Yeah. This is dangerous to have what I'm calling a "vindictive congress."

They have nothing to lose, and not only no accountability to an electorate who just threw them out, but an opportunity to punish that electorate for throwing them out.

I think the USA is now like a failed marriage between a conservative dad and a liberal mom.

In 2008, the liberal mom wanted change, and cheated with a man who has marxist disease.

So now we have all this horrible "compromise" trying to save the marriage for the sake of the house/cars/kids. But it can never ever be the same, due to the choice of one partner. Granted, the dad may have been boring and drove her out of the marriage, but whatever. Even if they got divorced, it will never be as good as what they had before that major indescretion.
