... "Republicans, however, later agreed to pass it by unanimous consent."

So, Mase...are you going to get a big raise now, or just a big bump from your company stock going up?
Very enlightening, thank you. With a tinge of hope.
This law would be used against private citizens growing food that they can no longer afford to buy or is unavailable as the “control” screws are tightened and prevent local farmers helping us out. It is a power grab.
Like health care we will be obliged to buy what and from where the Obama Komissars tell us to!
We the Tea Party have got to take it Washington again real soon or our Representatives will be telling us they can not get through to Geneva to address our grievances. People better open their eyes right now or they are going to be waking up and saluting the New World Order flag will quick like.
Thank you MamaDearest for the ping and the seed info.
If you're not outraged, you're asleep.
Conflicting information out there. We’ll have to see it passed before we know what’s in it.(Again)

Time to eliminate the ‘lame duck’ session...something else that has gone beyond its original intent.
In the 1850’s the Republican Party was started in Ripon, Wisconsin to stop Slavery!
In 2010 the Tea Party needs to start to stop Slavery!
This time in everybody's lives, we all have rings in our noses, being pulled by big government!
Will Moochelle get arrested for her garden at the WH?
Are you encouraging people to plant their own gardens? You're gonna go to jail!
Harry Reid is a slimy little weasel. I hope he rots in hell.
Can someone explain what this means in English? Does this mean that farmers are only allowed to use Monsanto seeds to grow produce?
Personally I’m beginning to wonder how is congress any different than the Reichstag or Duma these days?
What deal was made???

But Coburn, who tried several times to kill the legislation, promised to filibuster any measure that includes food safety, a maneuver that would cost Democrats precious floor time in the waning days of the lame-duck session. John Hart, a spokesman for Coburn, said Sunday night that he did not know why his boss relented.
I new the GOP would cave, they always do, they are cowards, they are worthless, and they are going to make sure in 2012 that no serious conservative candidate can win the primary. The Tea Party either becomes the dominate party or the country is lost.
This bill killed the small farmer, put big agra in control of our food, which means far less nutrition, GMO food galore, and tons of foreign food imports with mock regulations.
The final step will be big pharma eliminating the supplement market such that it will take a prescription to get something as simple as vitamin C or D, they are working hard on this. The US is a death cult, 50% of americans will be diabetic by 2020 and it’s no suprise at all. Humans are now a harvest, that is ..., thier illness’s anyway ...
After my heart surgery, my surgeon gave me a drug for tachycardia. I thought I was going to die. I stopped taking it and improved immediately. He said it was a "new drug," but I think he was experimenting on me. Later, I found out that he put "wanted to die" in my file, not "thought I was going to die."
Not statistically significant, but it's a big lie in my medical records that will certainly sway any death panel in my future.
I want the dang list of everyone who voted for this monstrosity.
grrrrrrrrrrrr
Thanks, “mylife.” As I suspected, the reality is not as simple as the headlines. Looks like there’s already a bunch of labeling and food-cost problems caused by the 2002 Bioterrorism Act.
This bill was also bound up in the continuing resolution victory. So it is part of the deal that killed the 2,000 page porkulus.
It includes the “Tester-Hagan” Amendment, which “BigAg” seems opposed to, and in this case, the small (usually lefty) “organic growers” are actually on our side (anti-FDA bureaucracy.)

While we are still saddled with this atrocious lame-duck vindictive congress, I guess this is less worse than the alternative of getting the porkulus rammed through by buying off a pro-AgBiz midwest Dem.
There needs to be sunset provisions on all legislation going forward. We will be choked by compromises.
I’d love to plant a winter garden, don’t think that can be done in KY. We are going to move our small greenhouse-building plans to the top of the to-do list though.
Thank you for your input.
