Very much in command of the facts, quick, firm and clear.
A bit less folksy, yakkity blather and more to the point with a more 'serious' demeanor. Which is good.
If I could give one word of advice to this talented and quick-minded woman, I would tell her to rachet down the bubbly quotient slightly.
She needs to be perceived as serious.... blending with her natural accessibility and warm personality.
She needs to occasionally set her jaw in conviction without breaking into the girly smile and deliver her obviously deeply held positions with authority.
She's got the content down 110%, if she'd just add more seriousness to her delivery...the trick is, such seriousness can't be contrived and should not replace her natural ebullience, wholesale--she needs to retain her authenticity--but a serious tone should be an additive feature, unflappable and strategically deployed.
That is NUTS.
I post here all the time and I am a hardcore conservative.
I’m honestly baffled by people that are so myopic they can’t tolerate the idea that Palin has some areas she can improve on.
She is not a god, infallible or perfect. But she is a unique, fresh, solid and clear conservative with real leadership ability. Which is why she fires our enthusiasm.
We WANT her to take off.
But we must be objective about her weaknesses so we can strategize around them.
It is what it is. The world is not fair. Perceptions exist, people hear what they hear.
The fact of the matter is that Palin has a tinny-like timbre to her voice that can rise up and grate at times.
Unfortunately.
Obama has that insipid lisp, they all have challenges.
so Palin should stop talking like she has talked her whole life ? does she have to start talking like a male politician from New York to get elected ?
Sarah Palin needs to lower her voice, speak slower and more deliberate, stop ending so many words on a high note.
Listen to other politicians, news casters, etc. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to speak in a manner that is serious.
Yes. This is tough to take:

She's doing much better though and I feel confident she'll get the serious gravitas where it needs to be.
It is not sexist.
Any serious candidate is going to learn to speak in a manner that makes them sound serious.
A southern candidate is going to learn to speak in such a manner to reach people who are not from the south.
A young candidate is going to try to sound less young.
Barak Obama speaks in a manner to reach the electorate. He does not talk street jive thinking that all he has to do is to reach young black voters.
And Sarah Palin needs to learn to speak in a manner that will be received by the masses if she wants to get elected.
Her voice is often like fingernails on a chalk board, it doesn’t help the cause.
Couric nor Gibson (who is gone) is not serious themselves, they as well as NBC,ABC and CBS are no longer gatekeepers of what is news and how it is to be reported, they are losing viewers...they are nothing but liberal hacks,They must meet Sarah and other conservatives on their terms not on the media terms! The morning shows are not viewed by the average person and is only meant for the beltway D.C. types, they don’t mean much in this new age of new media.....
How could Palin be doing a good job when she referred to John McCain as her hero?
Go Sarah...nice job.
Are you unaware that almost without exception, every major leader in industry, politics, business, goes through media and presentation training?
They EXPECT to fine tune their game, their delivery—they PRACTICE. Just like world class athletes do, concert musicians...they KNOW “impression” oftentimes carries as much weight as “information” in this entertainment-besotted age.
Just the reality we live in, like it or not.
But you are right, she cannot lose her authenticity, her unique “Sarah” dimension.
She just needs to deepen the gravity at strategic points. And not follow it up with a bright smile. No, she needs to let the seriousness LINGER.
The fact is that she was bested by Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson. Yes, the interviews were unfair and full of blind sided cheap shots (especially Gibson’s “Bush doctrine” question).
But if Sarah Palin is going to go head to head with Putin or other world leaders, she sure to God needs to be able to put away Katie Couric once and for all.
She can’t hide behind Facebook and Twitter all the way to the White House.
She said tonight that she will never go on another interview with someone like Couric, it is a waste of her time.
If that's the case, then she can have Sean interview her for the next two years. SO if she happened to get elected and travels overseas, that will really strengthen her mettle against the likes of Putin, Ahmadinejad, or Wen Jiabao.
Sarah, your not serious.
If she would continue this type of interview no one on FR would be complaining.
If she can only handle herself with a friendly host, what makes anybody think she can handle herself in a REAL negotiation with a real adversary with real consequences?
She can do what Margret Thatcher did, take lessons to modulate her speech pattern. Thatcher recognized her short-coming and did something about it. People began to take her more seriously after her speech lessons.
Well, she's got 5 kids to raise, so maybe she's too busy.
Great. Now we have Republicans playing the gender card.
I thought this was a conservative site. I didn’t know there were Republicans here, too.
