Palin's doing a nice job tonight in her Hannity appearance tonight

Posted on 11/22/2010 7:17:11 PM PST by cycle of discernment

Very much in command of the facts, quick, firm and clear.

A bit less folksy, yakkity blather and more to the point with a more 'serious' demeanor. Which is good.

If I could give one word of advice to this talented and quick-minded woman, I would tell her to rachet down the bubbly quotient slightly.

She needs to be perceived as serious.... blending with her natural accessibility and warm personality.

She needs to occasionally set her jaw in conviction without breaking into the girly smile and deliver her obviously deeply held positions with authority.

She's got the content down 110%, if she'd just add more seriousness to her delivery...the trick is, such seriousness can't be contrived and should not replace her natural ebullience, wholesale--she needs to retain her authenticity--but a serious tone should be an additive feature, unflappable and strategically deployed.

I live at the edge of Cuyahoga County, in Ohio.

The mecca of the Democrat cesspools is Cleveland, which is in the county. This county cannot get rid of Democrats (such as Kookcinich), and other Left-Wing radicals, and in fact, it was the cities' voters (the cesspools) that made the difference in getting Sherrod "The Socialist" Brown as one of our Senators. Likewise, unless you live in a County that is rural or suburban without a major metro area, you are stuck with Democrats because the cities will be voting 95% Democrat, as they live off others in their decaying ratholes.

The GOOD news is that Ohio is nearing a tipping point, however, where it can go Red because Autos/Manufacturing have shut down, essentially. All those Union voters are now either unemployed Democrats, or moving to find a job elsewhere. The UAW, AFL-CIO, USW have all suffered major losses of membership, but now the AFSCME, SEIU, and NEA Unions are supplanting them. It's the GOVERNMENT UNION EMPLOYEES who live off others' earnings now, for the most part, as other Union Membership is at rock-bottom. The bailouts to the Unions are legendary in the GM/Chrysler, and also in the Teachers and State Workers/City Workers taxpayer fund diversion to keep Union workers on the dole.

I firmly believe that the removal of Unions from the public sector is paramount, although I fear it's too late now. The Socialist Workers' Party is essentially what we have now, with all the "public" Union members....and they out-vote the Flyover Country voters regularly in numbers, AND, they promote their Agenda using taxpayer dollars (that's their income source, and Legislation to keep them fat and happy is always approved by the politicians who need them voting for their re-election).

As far as Illegals goes, Kalifornia is now a suburb for Mexicans, and most of the Southwest is over-run with them, too, as their wages are lower and businesses depend on that cheap labor. I would NEVER knowingly hire an Illegal or a contractor who employs illegals, but if you want to bid on a Federal Government Contract, you have to meet THEIR criteria (diversity, et cetera, and Union Labor).

I do my best to be involved in Tea Party efforts, but it sure seems like we're shoveling S&*t against the tide....

Hang in there my friend. I think Barack Obama will come to our rescue. He has done a great job for us already. From my perspective he is responsible for the Tea Parties.

This man is coming unglued. I suspect that his basic incompetence is dawning on him. There is talk of a Democrat challenging him in the primaries in 2012.

He certainly won’t become any more competent and his pathological ego really can’t take the growing dissatisfaction with his performance.

Personally, if it wouldn’t have such dire consequences for the nation and the world, I would love to see him carried out of the White House in four point restraints. I admit that I can’t stand the site of the man.

When I see this punk step off of Air Force One and salute the Marine at the bottom of the ladder I feel sick to the stomach. Anyway, time will tell. Have a very happy Thanksgiving.

I agree with your assessment. . except I bet she knows that and is saving the serious 'wipeout' factual to the point demeanor for the real campaign. I can't wait to see her be 'on' in the most serious yet connected way. She has a rare talent indeed. BTW, another Hit tonight with her Alaska show. Just amazing. .

at every turn now to neutralize these slanderous portrayals

You honestly believe MSM watchers are her voters? Anyone that believes the MSM or THINKS THEY HAVE AN AFFECT on Sarah are too clueless. They vote by their emotions - a barry voter. Sarah doesn't jump through anyone's hoop - perhaps that's your style, not her's.

All I see in this thread is a lot of mysogyny.

Did you ever see just a bunch of losers! Do nothings behind the screen critiquing SARAH. She could skin them alive if she wanted to. I see them all wee wee'd up as they cried all the way home. Bunch of wusses!

Too many of us political junkies are used to politicians whose persona have been crafted by skillful manipulators like Rove with choreographed smiles and some frowns to insert sufficient “gravitas”. They read carefully crafted policy statements that say nothing while inferring that the person knows what they are talking about. You won’t get that with Sarah Palin.

Gov. Palin is trying to show who she is, who her family are, and what they care about. She doesn’t want to read a poll or survey to find out what qualities people want in a president. She knows that being honest is showing who you are and letting people decide for themselves.

Now is not the time for lofty position statements. That time will come in the primary. We, the political junkies, know where she stands on issues and that her stands are not nuanced, audience-adapted, or varied from day to day. Others will learn this in the campaign.

Her media “blitz” is targeted to the many, not the few. It’s interesting that we are now hearing in the media how similar she is to Barry Goldwater, a true ideological conservative, to the right of Ronald Reagan. Seems like the media types are accepting that she’s a serious political thinker. They are hoping Republicans will remember the beating we took at the polls in 1964. Of course, we know that she has many qualities that old Barry didn’t have that will mean a different result in 2012.

I’ve seen them before - with the same old whine and SARAH is their cheese. I can imagine how worthless their life must be.

GO SARAH! You are one powerful women, the rino’s and rats come out of their holes at the sound of your name!

People need to think real hard about her as the Republican candidate and what her chances would be.

Conservatives don't have to think 'real hard' - that's for the clueless who have no firm foundation. Get it? Your tripe doesn't work here.

I'm a huge Palin supporter, and wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. It's time for her to begin adopting a more serious tone, for balance, and to help her gain altitude.

Voice coaching won't hurt, either. I'd say that, in her case, it's almost essential.

Her presentation is lacking for a politician.

She could only look worse if she spoke like a valley girl, chewed gum during a talk on foreign policy while twirling her hair around her finger.

But if she is simply interested in doing reality shows and giving speeches at Tea Party events, she’s doing great!

Don’t get me wrong. I am all for Sarah Palin. I am glad she’s on our team. And she is doing a great job.

I just really REALLY don’t want her to be the quarterback.

At this point (after watching her reality show), I wish her the best but do no consider myself a follower of hers. Kind of like Glenn Beck. He’s doing a great job but he is not my cup of tea.
