Most men can't take 70-80 hours of hard labor at a tough place of work like an elite assembly line of car manufacturing for weeks in a row.
I passed the test, at the age of 37, at one of the largest industrial plants in Europe: Volvo Torslanda.
I've also worked as a lumberjack here in Sweden, as a cook ("cooks calling themselves chefs usually are be morons" - Mario Batali) and I've also ran businesses of my own - admittedly with little of success.
In both America and Europe, there seems to be a major lack of adrenaline and spirit.
America is worse off than Europe.
Whenever I reach German soil, somthing inside of me just breaks loose. Say whatever you wish about Germany, there still is freedom in good old Europe.
Never critizise German and Swedish cars. I've been awakened by the sounds of a Koenigsegg test run. Need I say more?
Europe must fight Russia. We also have to defeat Iran.
If you ever have wished to get to learn the intrinsic meaning of things like "nationalism", study this clip and then ask yourself if it was wrong of Finland to challenge Russia:

The Winter War - fearless little Finland taking on the monstrous army of Stalin:

I hear those guys in Finland make some really strong cocktails.
“I hear those guys in Finland make some really strong cocktails.”
- Should I interpret that as you saying you’re afraid of Koskenkorva?
A few years ago, 60 Minutes did a show that demonstrated how most Finns are mostly moody bastards who like nothing better than to sit around drinking and watching other moody bastards Tango....
And sauna.
And that is a rather astute assessment.
“A few years ago, 60 Minutes did a show that demonstrated how most Finns are mostly moody bastards who like nothing better than to sit around drinking and watching other moody bastards Tango....”
The Finns are the only nation ever to repay its war debts to the USA. They are an honest, industrious, and brave nation.
“The Finns are the only nation ever to repay its war debts to the USA. They are an honest, industrious, and brave nation”.
I agree!
“(..) moody bastards who like nothing better than to sit around drinking and watching other moody bastards Tango”
- a far more constructive approach to life than that of cutting up supporters of soccer teams you don’t particularly approve of in Manchester, England.
Say whatever you wish about Europe, but never bs the only nation to deafeat Stalin and shortly after repay her debts to America.
If all of the World was like Finland..
With respect ... folks have not done hard labor until they have operated a family dairy farm. In the Midwest. In the summer. Gives me hives just thinking about it!
That said, SIL who lived in Russia for awhile loved, loved, loved going to Finland and Sweden for vacations.
They had companies fighting against Soviet divisions and yet they won and annihilated entire Soviet field armies through superb soldiering, leadership, and tactics. But they were overwhelmed in the end by Soviet artillery and manpower.
It is one of the most amazing wars ever fought and cost the Soviets dearly. Stalin (and the Soviet Army) paid heavily for his purging of his officer corps during his political purges of the '30s.
An incredibly strong beer or a former bottle of beer containing a strong message?
Anyhow;
European beer drinking culture
Europe is like a nursing home, neither vital nor vigorous at anything.
“(..) folks have not done hard labor until they have operated a family dairy farm. In the Midwest. In the summer.”
- If I am to be serious even on a Swedish saturday evening, I do actually admit other folks around this globe work hard too, for instance people running their own farms in the American Midwest.
Everyone who slaves 40 hours or more a week on this planet are good people.
“Europe is like a nursing home, neither vital nor vigorous at anything.”
- A perfect excuse for having elected a president like Obama.
(Don’t get me wrong; not accusing you:))
Sorry, I forgot the clip about our beer culture.
Here it is:

Farming, logging, mining, and commercial fishing demand the most (next to the Infantry). I’ve never done the fishing for a living yet.
Yea, but at least we have daylight in December!
