Don't panic just yet, but get ready to panic. The fact of inflation will likely be widely recognized within 1-4 months. The basis of this conclusion is a pricing survey of products sold at Walmart. Reportedly .6% increase or 4% annualized. Keep in mind Feds have the spigot all out open printing dollars like gangbusters. Welcome back Carter

Don’t worry, it will be blamed on the new Congress and of course, it is STILL Bush’s fault.

Really, steve? The CNBC headline really has a warning for us FReepers?

Dude. You deserve a zot just for that. I’m sure there are other things you are zot-worthy of, but....

prepare yourself food

Don't most folks prepare themselves food every day?

I'm preparing steak and noodles this evening.

Our FINAL warning is to “get ready to panic”?

Way to hedge your bets, LOL

Still, you’re not wrong about the inflation. 1000 dollars per family per month until June 2011.

tax by inflation....

the only benefit of this type of tax is that is a flat tax or more correctly a consumption tax....

this is what Obummer wanted? charge the poor more money for things so they starve?

but the blind, they will not see.....it will be Bush's fault to them.

If you’re serious, my advice would be to get out of those right away. They’re not adjusted to real inflation - and cannot be adjusted to the coming devaluation.

Precious metals are the way to go.

The rising prices on food will be blamed on the hoarders of food, just like they blamed the gasoline shortage on those who filled up their tanks of gasoline during the Carter years.

Easy response. Remember Iceland my friend! No one could predict the day and the hour of judgment(occurred on 10/28/08 ). However, weeks maybe months before people knew status quo was “unsustainable.” The whipsaw is coming. We will be like them: one day bag of potatoes is 20 iceland “dollars” next day it is 40. For me to give a final warning on such a date is pointless, no?

see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceland
On 28 October 2008, the Icelandic government raised interest rates to 18%, (as of August 2010, it was 7%) a move which was forced in part by the terms of acquiring a loan from the IMF. After the rate hike, trading on the Icelandic króna finally resumed on the open market, with valuation at around 250 ISK per Euro, less than one-third the value of the 1:70 exchange rate during most of 2008, and a significant drop from the 1:150 exchange ratio of the week before. Iceland has appealed to Nordic countries for an additional €4 billion in aid to avert the continuing crisis.[89]

Actually it’s an asset tax on liquid holdings.

SO you’re saying I still have time to panic? Or should I panic ahead of time?

EVERYone knows when to panic, it will be obvious. If you prepare like crazy now you won’t have to panic so much later. Your right to one of us FReepers needs to put together a memo on what to do the day of the panic. It could alleviate much suffering for our fellow Americans. Ex. Dear Jon Stewart they day you mocked us about is now here. Instead of recriminations and I told you so here is what might help you to do today, this week, next month and a year from now. No?

Go give away your land and stand on the roof of your house and wait for the Rapture to come. And then when the Rapture doesn’t come, sue the socks off the people to whom you gave your land.

This happened in the 19th century, and it’s happening again now.

Get real.
